But Hammelmann was not nominated by Lions so he is available in the draft. He was one (KPP) who showed promise during the carnival.
HBF would he be around for any of our picks?

I find that interesting that the Lions didn't nominate Hammelman at all.
He did look good in the games I saw him play, but as always I find it hard to gauge division 2 players.
I'd expect him to go somewhere late 3rd round onwards, so he could potentially be there for our 4th round selection.
A club will certainly take him though. Raw KPF who we could develop for a few years.

I like Jack Cripps as well, but he needs to work on his game a bit more. Have heard he flashes in and out of games and needs to find more consistency.

They have just taken three players through the f/s and academy bidding systems (Liam Dawson, with pick 41, Harris Andrews with pick 60 and
Josh Clayton (Brisbane Lions) with their last selection in the draft) so I guess they rated those three players ahead of Hammelman and wanted/needed some spots available for other players (they still have their 1st and 2nd rd selections available)

It wouldn't bother me at all if we took a raw KPF that we could develop in the NB's for a couple of years. With Waite now gone and Jones more or less on his way, we suddenly have a relatively young forward line. And we can be patient with one of these kids coming through and develop them thoroughly before thrusting them onto the AFL scene.

Will be very interesting to see who we take with our first round selection.

I like Keitel but with that thought of taking a raw KPF and letting them develop - McKenzie would be an obvious choice.

Got to go with a mid unless something ridiculous slides through on draft day.

There looks to be some decent talls in and around our 2nd pick. They may take a bit more time but there is talent there.

How do you rate Laverde?

I'm not over it as much this year as past years, but he looks to have some special qualities. I do wonder a bit about his overall football nous, as I've seen a few headless chook moments. I also remember thinking this about Dangerfield and he turned out ok:$.

I can't help but feel we can do better at 6 or 7 though. Happy to be corrected by anyone who has seen their fair share of him.

How do you think he projects? I've noticed you've been getting back to a few games this year?

I really like him. Like his versatility and his kicking I would have in the elite category.
I can't recall him having too many bad moments in games, although i'm sure there has been some.

Went to a number of games around the champs, but couldn't get to as many post champs and finals.

I think alot of us were made to look quite foolish with how we had Dangerfield ranked. I remember a game at Princes Park and he had the ball in space on the back flank with little pressure and missed his target by about 15 metres. And he was only about 35m away.

Any good small forwards in this years draft?
I think going forward we should forget about small forwards and focus on those positions to be filled by players who are part of the midfield rotation.

The more runners the better and guys like Murphy and Gibbs are dangerous when sent there for periods.

Caleb Daniel runs a fairly elite beep test. If he would he slide to pick 46...

Jeff's cousin worth a look too.
