I don't see Ahern being the slider in this years draft.
Not basing this on anything other than a gut feeling, but I think Duggan could slide.
I'm pretty keen on his Jets team-mate Corey Ellis at 19. Good accumulator of the footy, and his left foot is pretty deadly.

As has been discussed, Connor Blakely from WA would be a good get there as well.
Going to be an interesting draft now where we have ended up with our picks.

Yes, as am I. Pin-point disposal. Looks a bit like Gibbs-like in the way he sums up his options. Need more of these types.

Haven't seen enough of Ellis but I know he has a beautiful left boot.
So thats enough for me !!
Will he play midfield and has he got sufficient speed ?

Thoughts on Clem Smith at 28? Has been a huge slider after being rated a top 10 pick earlier in the year.

I also like what I read about Connor Blakely if he gets through to 28.

I play cricket with a guy who is a bottom age Jets players and he reckons;

Duggan is a freak, Birchall Clone, and anyone who gets him has a 200 game player on their list. Extrovert.
Ellis has brilliant disposal, but goes missing in games too. Introvert.
Laverde is just silk. Very cocky but backs it up big time. Wont back out of a contest either.

Personally, I hope Duggan slides and we pick him up.

RE: Smith - It's only based on video highlights and what I've read, but disposal and decision making looks poor at this stage. Great intensity and seems a good tackler, somehow reminds me of a small Robbo .......just imagine Mick.

I don't think his disposal looks too bad, and reckon he will end up a very good defensive half forward.

Is Peter Bampton a good prospect for us?

It would be great to have a ready made player walk into our team from the under 18s and make an impact for a change.

Being a Norwood follower here in SA, I can tell you that the kid is good. Has less scope for development as he is already a fairly big body, but the knock comes on his work on the spread. This is definitely an area he needs to work on and it will be found out at AFL level IMO. Also, I'm not sold on the Ellis bandwagon like many seem to be, but then again I'm not an expert.

Put it this way, he wouldn't be improving the side in overall kicking effectiveness, and unfortunately that's an area that we currrently need a lot of work in. Having said that, maybe if Garlett, McKenzie or the like aren't there at #28 it might be worth a think.

Fair enough, what about Blakely?

If we see kJ ending up a forward, perhaps taking Goddard as KP Back might be a smart pick.

19- Hugh Goddard
28- Connor Blakely
61- Touk Miller

When I first started using BF, I was an occasional browser, non-contributor ... There were a few names that were prominent that have disappeared (draft thread reminds me - as well as another poster triggering memory) ... Do any of you older and more active posters know where Gilly/Splendini went? Still here with a different username? ... Also, does anyone know who Mojo was from TC? Was/is he a BF user?

I feel like we could have a username graveyard!

Any chance we could snag:
19# Goddard (Slider - Groomed as a Defender)
28# McKenzie (Project Forward)
61# Touk Miller
Any risk u might talk footy and drop these puerile dick jokes?

Don't know anything about Touk Miller.

I doubt Blakely will be there at #28.

Goddard for #19? Hmmmm, that might be possible. His stocks have reportedly fallen recently.
