Hmm, he looks to me as a player that will improve again, bit underrated outside of the club I think, hoping he may have put on a bit more size. I reckon the 2nd year blues types are those who are ready made, ball winning players, who just get figured out way to easily. He's got class and awareness, glad to here he will get more game time.

Hope so

Have had Hanley in my team as my 3rd premium defender, but i'm just wondering if teams are going to put more time into him and how he will cope with that, think their could be others about 60-80k less (David Swallow, my smoky)who could produce similar numbers, no doubting he can score big, but he can put in a sub par score. Fair assesment?

Your guess is as good as mine about opponents putting more work into him.

I reckon Hanley will always be a low 20s possession player. He gets a lot of touches around half-back so it's hard to shut him down completely, but I don't know if he has the ball-winning ability to get a lot of it. Wouldn't expect him to drop off much but wouldn't expect a big improvement in scores.

Hi guys

More nab elite based question .. Any concern on rocky from Sydney game. Reports suggest played forward role. Is this a preview if things to come or just a one off

Thanks

Hey guys, i just picked up golby in a fantasy draft. How has his pre season been? Expecting similar output to last year?

After watching the NAB challenge games and the practice match on the weekend, how much of the ruck does it look like Leuey will be playing? I'm hoping Trent West won't have a big impact on his scoring. 75% of the ruck duties or closer to 50-50? How similar will it be to the impact that Stefan Martin had on Leuenberger's ruck duties last year?

It's hard to say, and i think it's something that will probably chop and change as we adjust to the new style of play, as well as the opponents. Bergs is still the #1 ruck though, and we will want him to be doing more of the ruck work. Id be guessing 60-70 to 40-30 split. West has done a good job in the ruck backing up, so i think we can afford to 'rest' Bergs a bit more than we have in the past. Whether this affects his scoring positive or negative though is hard to say. Being a bit more rested he should be able to put in a bit more around the ground, when he ends up doing 80-90% ruck time we need to save his energy simply for the ruck duties and he doesn't cover the ground or look to get involved. Hopefully he will be able to take a mark or two up forward as well.

Beams injury is about 8 weeks, so keep him in mind as a downgrade option coming into the bye rounds.

Aish should play a bit of senior footy, but will always be a sub risk. I dont think he will be a big scorer, but should be consistent. He is probably priced too high though to really consider. Zorko is a strange one, just not sure how his scoring will go this year. Id maybe say an 80-85 average.

Hi guys

What are your thoughts on Ryan Harwood. Where is likely to play? starting 18? likely points?
Had a few good pre-season games so thinking of him as a pod.

Thanks

Hi fellas

What are your thoughts on Lewis Taylor? Thinking of putting him in as F8 in SC. I know he probably won't play round 1, but do you think he'll break in early or will he be given time in the NEAFL?

Risky. Small chance he could play early, but suspect he's a more likely downgrade target. Had his first hit-out last weekend. Looked good but clearly not match fit. Has had barely any pre-season.

Job security should be fine and he'll likely see a bump in his average, but I struggle to see Rhino finishing in the top ten defenders, so I'd look elsewhere.

Plenty of other options. I wouldn't go for him personally. If he had a full pre-season under his belt, then he'd certainly be in consideration.

Hey guys. Hope you had a great start to the footy season. My SC is going well, my tipping is 0-4, but don't care cause the Blues, Pies, Tigers and Sydney all lost hahahahaha
Anyhoo. Will or does Hanley ever play in the guts? Poster above mentioned he gets it a lot around half back, but can he improve his stats in the middle?

THanks

After starting his career at HB, he started moving more up the field, especially last year playing more on the wing and even HF. This made him a bit more dangerous as he was hitting the scoreboard. Downside was he started attracting the tag. So far this preseason Leppa has had him playing back across HB, which i don't mind, especially with Mayes now firmly in our best 22 and Aish coming into the team, i think we have some class up forward. After losing Yeo, we do need some more dash and good ball use down back, so i can see why Leppa has moved Hanley back there. It's hard to say how it will affect his scoring. So far he has racked up plenty of the ball, and with Rich being the main man to attract the tag, and Hanley being back down in defense, he might not attract as much attention from the opposition, which should increase his scoring a little bit on last year, or at the very least perhaps make him a bit more consistent. With Leppa looking to switch the ball and use it a bit shorter with a bit of run and carry from the back, i think you could expect Hanely to get a fair bit of the ball. Just hard to say if he will increase on last year or not. I would also imagine from a purely rotational and also educational side of things, that he would get a little bit of time through the midfield, just nothing significant to his fantasy scoring i don't think.

For SC, the upside might be that with his good ball use, he hits targets, will have a decent DE% and will hopefully be involved in some scoring chains started by Hanley at HB.

Anyone else think Rocky might spend a little more time up forward now that Stakes, McGrath and possibly McGuane are out? I hope not, but he may have to be an upgrade target until we get those guys back.

I doubt it, maybe a very small time. his best use is in the guts almost brownlow like. I dont think it will happen.

Now that he's been selected in this week's team, does the fact he lacks a pre-season mean he's almost guaranteed to be a sub?
