Would be good if we could get all the northern clubs and fans to start vehemently defending the academies with the victards favourite word.

'Tradition'.

I can imagine their brains going into loops of .

'Academies Not Fair'

Great to see the Lions get on a little run. I don't want the Lions or the Suns to finish last or 2nd last.

I would prefer Carlton to finish last and another Victorian team to finish 2nd last.

If the Swans need to raise some points for Mills and Dunkley it would be easier to facilitate some trades to weaker Victorian teams who hold the top picks in the 1st and 2nd rounds of the draft.

Hopefully through the AFL don't sort out the new system and the 2014 system remains in place.

Dunkley has stress fractures in his back. Hasn't played this year but is training. Source: AFL website
Didn't like what I read in that item on the AFL website, training with Richmond reserves!

Thinking they could well be the type of club to bid their first ND pick on Dunkley. Reckon in the past two drafts they have drafted U18 players who trained with them during their week with an AFL club assimilation. Gives Richmond too much of a close look at Dunks.

I have no issues with Dunkley training at Richmond. Will only emphasise what a rabble they are in comparison to us;)

My question is - if neither Dunkley or Mills make it onto the field this year how will it impact their selection position?

Delist 3rd rounder I tell you...

Just watch us having to pay through the roof for these two though

Just a general question. I know AFL players are a different breed but yet they are still human.

Would a player from another club take a pay cut for a few years and come and play for us?

These trade restrictions suck by the way. It's like we are trying to win a fight with our hands tied behind our backs.

Players towards the end of their careers can tend to take pay cuts to stay at their current clubs and maybe to go from a bottom rung club to a top club. But not players at the start and middle of their careers.

Its a shame though isnt it really. I would love to see henderson from the blues take a 50k pay cut for two seasons to play with us and then we bulk it up considerably the few seasons after. But alas, we dont have the draft picks to trade for him...

my thought re: Dunkley from the Contact Status page.
and I have I rekon he would see Tommyguns struggle and go, nah, stay home, seniors ASAP..there will be a few VIc clubs keen on him no doubt. We may not need to worry about the new rules in the end, and while disappointing the lineage could end there, long term, having Mills and some astute mid picks (Parker..Goodes ahem), is that such a bad thing? Yes, I am consoling myself..I want Josh here, but silver lining and that..

Yes, he could be a son of a wonky-kicking gun, but he may not be a gun at all. He may not want to come up and it becomes a moot point, we get Mills and some later (more valuable) later picks. He is not necessarily needed at this point list wise either. I am repeating myself here, sorry..

What do you think andy otten is worth? And is he worth bringing him to sydney?

If he is a chance to be delisted at seasons end i wouldn't be against picking him up as depth even with his bad run of injuries.
