Maybe its the lure of playing with Dangerfield at Geelong might be too tempting ?
Question how Geelong can fit them in under the cap, get the feeling if it happens Motlop might be involved in the deal, ie Motlop to Richmond for their first rounder, which comes back to us for Hendo.
Hoping Hendo stays though. Don't want Carlisle.

Deff want hendo to stay.

Hmm is it a hendo wants to leave us situation or more just because our contract offer is really low atm?

To be fair though, if we have no choice and Hendo leaves, Carlisle is probably the most like for like player we could get.

If im going to be completely unbiased and honest, Carslile can play good footy and would be a benefit for our team. I just think the environment he's playing in is toxic, he's clearly not enjoying his footy. If he was to be traded, he would only prosper. Straight swap Hendo for Carlisle?

No to trading for Carlisle with Switzerland hanging over his head .
Offer him a front ended contact , get him to nominate us , and take him for free in the PSD .

I love it, absolutely ruthless, but I doubt it Essendon would cop it lying down. The Switzerland situation is something I wouldn't worry about when recruiting him, at most he would miss 12 months in a worst case scenario realistically? We would still get another 5-6 years out of him.

Don't see the point of trading Henderson out to trade Carlisle in , especially with the very real risk of a lengthy ban .
Happy to wear the risk of a ban for zero outlay (PSD) .

Hendo stay or go could be impacted on where we finish on the ladder, if Brisbane finish below us i would think they will almost certainly take Schache leaving us still in desperate need of a key fwd

We can only play the cards we're dealt. Jaksch, Foster, J Silvagni and the forgotten Giles are all key position candidates even if we lose Henderson and Watson in October.

With SOSOS being very lean i reckon they will want to give him ample time to develop and will want him protected even in the VFL so it might be worth paying Hendo a little more to ensure he isnt thrown in too early.

True but anyone we draft will be 2+ years away. e.g. Jaksch has 2½ years on an AFL list and still needs 2 more preseasons.

In the meantime we would have to make do with Casboult and Liam.

Very good points.

If we lose Yarran or Henderson (or both) and not finish bottom two which is looking likely (thank goodness) meaning no Weitering or Schade, I can see us having a look at Plowman or Tomlinson.

I'm liking Henderson, Casboult, Everitt and Kreuzer rotating through the forward at the moment!

Won't be enough currency in Yarran alone for the job SOS has been charged with .
Whether supporters like it or not , they have to get their heads around this ...
Getting rid of our no.1 ruck and best KPP without bringing in any experienced to replace them with is list managing Melbourne style.........
Big men take 3 - 6 years to hit there straps so do we trade them out in 2021 when we're rebuilding again?

Would it be that crazy to keep Henderson?

I know we want an inordinate amount of first round draft picks, but Hendo is a pretty damn good player and seems like he would like to stay. Maybe I am behind the times, but is it a fait accompli that he goes?

Hendo and Kruz to stay. Yarran is our currency

All to stay thanks.

3 really good players who are still only around 25, plenty of good footy ahead of them.

Barker has publicly stated yarran is required, which they don't normally do when they are looking to trade them, unusual if it's a ploy to increase his price.

If it's because yarran wants to leave, then that's another story and we have to get the best we can from a trade
