Just because the club is going through a rebuild, doesn't mean we can't get someone a bit older in.

If it becomes clear that we have more spots to fill than useful picks to use, then I wouldn't have a problem with the club getting Barlow over if the price is right. Shouldn't be a main target for the trade period though.

You're more generous than me. Fingers crossed his confidence grows and his disposal improves. I fear Mick's desperation to recruit more run has seen us lumped with Jordan Russell 2.0.

Jordan Russel finished second in a B&F and before injury and confidence problems was a better than handy player. Would love to think Tutt can match him.

But to just write him off based on his age? Come on.

Having just read Judd's book (first footy player's biography actually) I didn't realise the scope of how many injuries players can be dealing with and still be playing. I think his age is less important than his physical health. I'd imagine his 'down' year in 2015 would be more to do with injury than skill!

Don't know if his leadership qualities are to good. Captaincy was taken away from him and then delisted due to Lions wanting a younger list, however toured an older Stevie J the following week. Proof is in the pudding there.

Bernie Vince at Adelaide was never the player that Barlow is at Freo, so any trade for Micky would cost us more than the pick (23) Melbourne gave up (so likely an early pick or our most attractive remaining KPP).

Why would we do that? Are you suggesting that Carlton are now at the same point of a rebuild that Melbourne was at when they traded for Vince? You don't think we're a few years behind? SOS seems to think so.

I think we can afford to take on one experienced veteran on our list, not two, with list spots being at a premium these days.

I still remember us signing a well over cooked Daniel Harford, don't want us to repeat that mistake.

Not sure I wrote him off because of his age, J. I simply do not think he fits our age structure and will cost the club too much at a time when the club has so clearly and so often stated that we are at the beginning of a long and likely painful rebuilding phase.
