Not a bad trade as we're unlikely to use our 3rd in the draft and gives us extra power for our GWS trades at 20 + 21.

Puts Bell's value = ~29/30 which is probably fair all things considered.

Bell was a great find and a good lad and a disappointing loss. #21 (and the Reach Around swap) feels like OK compensation. Is in line with the rebuild, so anything done in the name of the rebuild is OK.

Maybe a little lighter than I expected/hoped. But ballpark about right. And given the circumstances, we weren't going to get cute with the trade.

Technically values Bell at pick 30. Would have liked low-to-mid 20s, but not a disaster.

Also, IF this draft really does drop away, getting pick 21 is much more important than the drop down the order later on.

Surely (Shirley) this means we will move into Defcon 2 for GWS discussions...?

SOS has worked out we didnt need 3rd rounder for SOSOS therefore its a great trade - we get 21 and have given up nothing in reality because we still get SOSOS with our next pick

I have! I reckon he's more a liability than an asset. When he doesn't have the ball, he goes missing. Compared to the Hawks small/medium forwards he has no defensive presence which is tantamount to success in modern footy. I'd trade him now while his currency is up if a good deal came up. Adelaide were reputedly interested late in the season. If they were happy to pony up Lever and maybe a pick upgrade I'd take that.

if im looking at just last season i agree with you. even in a couple of reserves games i saw he was poor. had to be given the ball to do anything and always looked like he was running up and down on the spot

I agree Mezz,I think & I'm some of you guys may agree Nick showed some real promise last season 2015 when he had some continuity& gained some real confidence.
