Yarran isn't a good which is functionally the same as the other players.

Market analogies don't really work in trade week. Each player is a distinct resource whose value is determinable by negotiation between seller and buyer. If multiple buyers exist some aspect of competition emerges, but it is not infrequent there is only one legitimate buyer and there is always only one legitimate seller.

I think your saying that the value goes down when there is only one buyer and, whilst this is true, it is counterbalanced when the seller isn't forced to the marketplace.

why arn't the other victorian teams trying to better the offer? Sounds too good to be true.

2 reasons IMO.

1. The players have to agree to the trade - and the reason they are leaving is that they can't get regular games. Carlton can offer that possibility.

2. I think they need the club to suck up the contract of players they are moving on. Carlton are prepared to do that.

I said I'd like to see us get Adcock earlier and was howled down. As a DFA he would cost us nothing and his leadership qualities wouldn't go astray for 2 seasons with us.

I think he was co-captain when 5 unhappy young players left for SFA.

Not sure that is the leadership we need!!

If we get Pick 12 from Richmond, I think this trade might work for us. We could then use Pick 28 for the GWS4.

Pick 12 + Pick 21 + Carlton’s 2016 third round pick > ADE
Sam Kerridge + Pick 9 + Pick 28 > CARL

Grab Curnow Jr. or Oliver with Pick 9

The fact we are supposedly offering Menzel for Tomlinson puts more pressure on them as we wont need that pick 12 for him as another option. Richmond must have anxiety levels through the roof. I am starting to feel like Yazz could stay, I would love him too like everyone else I guess with the right attitude.
