Pick 8= 1551points
Pick 12 1268pt
Pick 20 912pt
Pick 21 878pt
Pick 20+21=1790pt

Doesn't matter to GWS. They have #27. Getting one of #20 or #21 would see them cover the points for their 2nd academy player. If they got 12 and 21 off us, they would go to the draft with 8 and 12.

However, I am reading that Tomlinson may not be quite as valued as one might think. A late first might get it done. Would be awesome if we can use 20 and 21 but that is dependent on keeping Yarran.

We would have 1, 59, 60 in the draft though.

be okay with that. reading some of the phantom drafts we could get a curnow or burton at 12 which i think we need. a pick 20 or 21 could be a collins mckay mathieson dunkley clarke or oliver. all look like good players

If your talking about Ryan Clarke from Eastern Ranges....he is Gold Coast Suns bound.......

1,59,60 not the greatest picks to start a rebuild. Isn't there a third GWS academy player. Tall forward can't remember his name.

I can't see the club parting with pick 12 if we do obtain it. Also hope we keep our Hendo pick in next years draft.
Out of the 5 GWS players we are linked to Plowman and Tomlinson are the only two I'm really keen on.
Although I've not seen much of Sumner Lamb or Phillips.

While we all think no clubs will bid on Jack, at least not high, reality is it is still possible a club will bid on him especially given it is a shallow draft, so, I'd be staggered if Carlton didn't retain one of 20 or 21 in case we need to use it to secure Jack. Another club could do it to keep us honest.

But that shouldn't be a problem assuming Richmond get their shit together and we get a decent pick for Yarran. Then we still have three other decent picks to leverage in any trade.
No one is going to bid a first round pick on Jack. They know that we rate him as a third rounder at best and if someone is stupid enough to bid a first rounder for him, then we will let him go to there, he can sit around for 2 years and then walk out on them into the draft and nominate us in the PSD.

Kerridge is out of contract. I think Adelaide will let him walk if he agrees to our deal.

By which I mean we will trade him for next years third round
Just had a thought... You are locked out of trading next years later round picks if you trade your first rounder. So... if it all comes down to it, trade next years second rounder to GWS as part of the package for the GWS kids... I would include the Yarran pick as well just to make sure that we get them. So pick 12 this year and a pick between 19-23 for Tomlinson, Plowman, Phillips, Lamb, and Sumner. And then just to make this years first round sexy for us, I would trade picks 20 and 21 to GWS for pick 8 and their third round pick.

Would give us pick 1, pick 8, (GWS third rounder), 59 and 60 as the picks we give a shit about.

I really don't know too much about GWS and barely watch any of their games.

How would everyone rate the GWS 5 (Tomlinson, Plowman, Phillips, Sumner, and Lamb) against some of our recent new players, Docherty, Everitt, Jaksh, Jones, Tutt? How would you rank all those players 1-10?

So guys last year we got Whiley and Jaksch and this year could add Plowman, Lamb, Phillips, Sumner and Tomlinson. 7 giants in 2 years!
They call us the Carlton Giants...

1. Jones
2. Tutt
3. Phillips
4. Lamb
5. Sumner
6. Plowman
7. Jaksch
8. Everitt
9. Docherty
10. Tomlinson

1 is best, 10 is crapest ;)

Really not sure.

GWS have shown they are pretty easy to deal with, however 5 players over the ditch for maybe 1 second rounder is a bit of a stretch.

In 15 years would imagine the club games record holder will have 120 games.......and Life Membership

That's my worry I suppose. Sounds like a good deal but I'm just wondering if those players will improve our list. I don't know though ... I admit I don't watch many GWS games. I'm just wondering if we would get more out of taking our picks to the draft. I.e. Pick 21, would that get us Collins.

AFL trade period 2015: Carlton pick unlocks Treloar and four-player Giants deal

Carlton's trade of Tom Bell to Brisbane could unlock the deal that will finally see four Giants players move to the Blues and Adam Treloar transfer to Collingwood.
The Blues on Monday traded Bell to Brisbane for picks 21 and 60. The Blues now have picks 20 and 21 in the draft and are set to trade one of them to the Giants for Lachie Plowman, Jed Lamb, Liam Sumner and Andrew Phillips.
Carlton were keen on versatile key position player Adam Tomlinson, who remains contracted to the Giants for two more years but was interested in a move if a trade could be organised, but he will not be part of the multi-player deal for pick 20 or 21. Two other clubs had also enquired of Tomlinson, but the Giants have said they were not going to trade him.

It could be worth it to try next year's second rounder for Tomlinson. It can't get any better than this year's, we already have Geelong's 2016 pick and assuming that pick 21 gets swallowed up acquiring pick 12 for Yarran, it's be foolish to trade ourselves so completely out of this year's draft by losing #12.
