Cripps, Bell, Kreuzer, Casoult and Docherty.

Non negotiables.

Everyone else should be shopped around. We need to draft hard at it blokes, with a bit of mongrel and footskills.

I thought the darkest days for our club were ten years ago when we had players like french, setanta, an out of shape whitnall etc.. but seems like I was wrong
I feel for SOS... at GWS he got free kicks from the AFL to build a semi decent list fast, and now people will expect more of the same.. the poor bastard has a much weaker hand to play now though..
I left the Gibbs-is-trade-bait bandwagon after the Geelong game last year, but now I think I may be getting back on it...
Feel a bit the same re Gibbs

Kruezer should be on the table. His foot is cactus. Not worth the risk of hoping he shakes off the injury monkey. Feel sorry for the bloke though, poor kid.

Wouldn't be trading Tuohy... especially with Sheehan and particularly Bryne coming through.

These players aren't pawns on a chess board... they're still people and we've got to be careful with who we kick out.

Except Jones. Jones is a pawn.

Looking through our list, I've been trying to work out who's worth keeping around. SOS certainly has his work cut out.

We've tied up quite a few on long term deals that we may have to chime in for some of their wage if they were to be moved on; Gibbs, Murphy, Jamison, Walker, Thomas til at least 2017.

Rowe got an extra year that the club was initially unwilling to provide. Simmo has 2016 and Jones was signed on for 3yrs. Everitt looks uninterested at the moment.

Hendo & Kreuzer are out of contract & FA respectively this year. Carrots, Judd likely to retire and the likes of Army & Ellard + Warnock likely to be de-listed.

List management will be interesting with 2 of our most exciting youngsters in Menz & Yazz off contract next season.

We'll need some other youngsters to kick on this year to work through the improvement in the list. Crippa, Doc, Byrne, Jaksch won't be enough along with the lesser skilled/trained Bell, Whiley, Sheehan & Cas and the currently under prepared Boekhorst, Smith, DVR.

I hope it is not true that Carlton were up in Brisbane speaking to James Aish?. He is struggling to hold his spot in the Brisbane team and has serious attitude issues (prima donna). Are we now going to give Brisbane pick 1 & 2 for next years draft? I hope not. On the other hand if Gibbs is offered as a straight swap, I am on board. They can have Jones as well.....

Jones was signed on for 3yrs? Really? Well at least Preston can move forward with some certainty.

If only we had a high calibre player to let go through FA this yeah ................. have picks 1+2

I remain unconvinced that Kreuzer has any long term value either as trade bait or a player. Given his poor trade value we should try and keep him but on a low/medium salary.

Hendo is not a free agent but is uncontracted, wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks etc make a play for him as a KPD. We will not get much due to playing him as forward where he isn't ever going to be elite.

IMO apart from Cripps & Docherty and potentially Bell only Murphy, Yarran and Gibbs have any real trade value and low first rounders would be most I'd hand over. I would want to keep Yarran but he is most likely to leave ( to West Coast?).

Yup SOS has got a tough job.

If we finish on the bottom (which I hope we don't), we can offer them steak knives and if they decline, take him for free in the PSD. He's a serious talent, too good to ignore if he wants to come to us.

He's better than Murphy !

Agree he is the better player with more upside but is he Judd-like captaincy material someone who can lead by example?

Has he the training ethic of Michael Jordan and able to instil this in his team mates?

Has he absolute fanatical passion for the team willing to sacrifice his stats to make his team better defend his teammates and not let himself be bullied?

I'm not sure on this.

Good thing for us is the psd. As it currently stands, us, Brisbane and the sun's are rock bottom. Aish possibly wanting out makes us the likely destination and therefore means a second round pick is as good as it gets for Brisbane.

Depending in where Adelaide finish, I think trading Gibbs to them for Lever instead of pick 14 could be a win for us. No way they would want to let him go, but could see Gibbs coming home as the final piece to a premiership.

Bloody oath we should, nay must trade 2E, his application and attitude the past 2 years has left a lot to be desired. We shouldn't hang onto him just because of the other 2 Irish lads on the list.

Draft KPP with our first pick.

Preferably a strong KPD.

Wouldn't mind us delisting Wood and Warnock while we trade in another ruck for cheap.

Hell I'd take back Hampson if Richmond don't want him :D

Would rather eat my own dirty socks than have Hampson back af Carlton, I'd rather have Ty Vickery in fact (that's saying something)

Pretty fair assessment of where we are at. I reckon (hoep) by the end of the year players like Thomas, Graham, Byrne and Boehorst will have cemented themselves in the side as part of our future.

He's a 26 year old grown man.
