If we are in the running for Jake Carlisle and EfC expect a top 10 pick, i just dont get why the club and Jake wouldnt agree to go via the PSD. Surely Jake realises his best chance of achieving success is for us to have as many talented kids as possible, so why give one away when we dont have to.

If i was in charge of the list i would offer Jake $400k if he comes to CFC via a trade or $600k if comes via the PSD and see how much he really wants to look after the fleas who injected him.

Yep -to prove he is committed to Carlton he needs to prove himself by screwing over EFC.

This may be true. You are referring to Stevie J. But what type of credibility do you attach to what Maxwell has said, given he still has inside contacts with his former club?

Although I am of senior years, (I had a hearing test only 6 mths ago and got the thumbs up) I don't think my hearing is affected just yet. Maxwell definitely said he heard that Kreuzer failed a medical test.
And u might want to get your ears checked as Nick maxwell clearly says that it's the first he's heard of it in the audio on sen. Listen from 8min50 sec til about 11min mark. http://www.sen.com.au/audio

Go to Nick maxwell on the run home. It's 11:48 mins long.

Agree with Billings but Bruce and McCartin will find it much harder without Riewoldt as he is the oppositions main focus.

Their defense looks like it needs plenty of help and midfield will be serviceable.

Still think we have plenty of improvement in some of our guys who will be much better with the Malthouse shackles off them and some KPP additions.

I would back our midfield to beat St.Kilda's next year.

True I do agree, Saints are on the right path no doubt. The defence will have a bit of work with players such as Fisher,Dempster & Gilbert coming to an end & Roo& Joey as well:).

You didn't correct the figure I posted, just gave us an opinion. If you know the correct figure, post it.
I said 625k per year and another poster who put up a pic of a golf day with Daisy said he heard 700k straight from the horses mouth.

My figure of 625k was from multiple media reports. There were others that said 700k but those reports seemed to be sensationalising his contract, so I discredited them.

Of course, now i'm inclined to believe the poster who heard it straight from Daisy. Whether the 700k figure includes bonuses or match payments I don't know.

Either way, it's a little tiresome when people pump up his pay packet to suit their narrative.

Reverting back to possible delistings, does anyone else believe that Weitering, possibly Carlisle, (plenty of talk of Plowman)
suggests the uncontracted solid citizen White and rookie Fields may be in jeopardy of delisting?

Carlisle genuine KPD, Weitering likely to play 3rd tall for a year or 2 behind Jammo and possibly Rowe, Jaksch or even Giles.
Also young Silvagni looks like a 3rd tall at either end, and pretty sure Dick is contracted for 2016.

With a myriad of HBF types and the possibility of drafting Rice, there is little need for a rookie 3rd tall or a solid bit player
undersized KPD/tagger with a dicky knee. About the only role left for White would be as a pinch hitting 3rd tall/decoy
forward while we develop kids. Personally, I believe Watson would serve a greater purpose, therefore at least as likely to be
retained. (Don't think Watto will survive if we draft a KPF)

Watson has been a disaster. Pick 18 the only positive quality he had was his booming kick. He is an average mark, has no pace and turns the ball over at a whim. He played all his junior footy behind the ball and for some reason he attracted the attention of our bonehead recruiters. He has been at the club for 5 years for 23 games. His height is listed as 195cm and again I question that because everyone that has seen him will swear he is much shorter and he is probably carrying a few extra kilo's. Time to move him on. FYI Pick 19 in 2010 was Isaac Smith, Jamie Cripps 24,Karnezis 25, Jeremy How 33, Fasolo 45. We ofcourse settled with McCarthy 34 & Mitchell 42 who have both left. I think our dip stick recruiting team spent 2010 at the Casino and the races because they certainly were not looking at the players. Probably ran their fingers down the list the night before and made their decisions like a mug punter.

I think we all know where he's going.
Bit of work to go yet, cats expected to lose Motlop ( no compo pick now ) and have cleared the salary cap space for Dangerfield, deal may have to get creative as expectation is crows will match Dangerfield offer and force a trade in their favour.

where Carlton is ain't the AFL's fault, it's ours.

sure, we ain't looked after like some interstate clubs but that's part of growing a national competition.

and the AFL ain't too bad to us - we also got into finals two years back because essendon were disqualified , and got a great Friday night draw this year. we also usually get first game opening round against Richmond. we also get lots of MCG games

we actually get better looked after than other Victorian clubs like north & Bulldogs.

where we fail is we still have a sense of entitlement , like we're owed something. until we move beyond that (& it finally looks like we are), we may as well get used to finish at the bottom.
Sticky this post pls :thumbsu:

The club has to have a walk away price and stick to it. If we don't get Carlisle and St Kilda does, whoop dee doo. If we can get him for the price we're willing to pay, awesome, welcome aboard.

It's simple, but still surprising how often clubs and fan-bases get obsessed about "winning" the services of a player, no matter the cost. "Yay he picked us!" - sure, but what's he going to cost?

Hey guys

Do you think there's any chance that SOS trades the number 1 pick? I'm not sure he's sold on schache and if he lands Carlisle, maybe he could get address another area of need by trading pick 1, rather than taking weitering

We don't know how the cards will fall yet but Weitering seems to be close to a lock with our first pick.....whatever that may end up as i.e. #1 or #2

Carlisle for Hendo compo maybe? I don't think we'll get him in the PSD as much as we may want to.

No way in hell. "Earning" the number #1 pick, acknowledging we're THE worst team in the league, the Blues need to take the best guy, move on to the next thing.

I just want JC to come out and nominate a club already - whether that be us or not. That way we can relax a little.

This month is going to be torture, isn't it?

I really hope not. Can't we just embrace the draft instead of giving other clubs, namely *, a leg up?

Our need for talls is over-exaggerated, with Weitering and Silvagni joining us, Jaksch best 22 next year.

I think most here would feel the same way you do....................(and I know Hendo isn't compo but a trade)

Just can't get thrilled about Carlisle unless he does come via the PSD..................which is unlikely.
