Tyson & Salem? How can you judge that deal after only 18 months?

Tyson came 2nd in their B & F last year. I love Josh Kelly BUT Melbourne are winning that trade by a mile at present

tyson gets way to much love for my liking, people act like he's going to become elite.

i would always take a gamble on a superstar at pick 2 in the draft compared to knowing you were just getting a good player in tyson.

it was the demons just conceding the fact they don't want to pick a bust so they took the easy way out

Agreed. They don't trust their development staff

What is interesting though is that out of the top 20 in that 2011 draft, I'd actually rate Tyson the best pure midfielder from it...

Such a cruel season as a Saints supporter - loving the wins, effort and potential displayed by the group, but at the same time knowing that the season won't amount to the 'ultimate success', and thus craving another high draft pick. Dreaming of a backline with Weitering & Goddard (good luck getting past that!), supported by Roberton, Webster, Newnes, Savage.....mmmm, is it wrong to say I'm getting aroused?!

Hoping that Gaz can continue to lift the Suns to a mini run, the Dees and Blues surprise a few. Even should that happen, still think we're ahead of Brisbane & Essendon. Add to that equation that we'd need to slow down (which I don't see happening) means at best (or worst, depending on your point of view) we're 16th, huge long shot to think we'll land Weitering there for mine.

After reading the posts, I am starting to warm to the idea of Balic (think he'll rocket up the rankings too) - the concern is our 2nd rounder. All of the highly ranked 'sliders' seem to go high teens, early 20's....but in saying that, who cares about 'sliders'? We'll just nab another Lonie, or Sinclair etc and years later reminisce about how much of a steal we got. GO SAINTS!

Let me preface by saying, I know this isn't going to happen, nor do I want it to happen, BUT........after a season like this, what do you think you'd get for Armo on the trade table? Would have to be a Top 5 plus highly rated youngster, yeah?

well that draft was already ruined because players who should of been in it such as shiel and treloar never made it to the draft either.

either way tyson is most likey closer to ranking 10 in his draft overall rather than 5

Skinner is running again, his actually running that much the coaches had to pull him up at training tonight and told him to easy up.

I asked will he still get drafted, brown said he should but if he doesn't they'll take him as a overager next year.

just thinking about the draft, just think GC once passed up hogan in the mini draft in '12

181cm mid, ball magnet, good disposal and great decision maker
Lightly built at 71kg

But he IMO was one of the forgotten players
averaged 25.5 disposals at the National Carnival at 73% efficiency
Recruiting O'Kearnary along with a Mathieson, Balic, Parish etc. Would bolster our midfield needs


Also I think we should target Michael Talia 22yrs, 194cm, 95kg
Solid KPD would walk into the side to replace Dempster long term and can take the big man.
Hes out of contract and I'm a big fan that he can take FB for us for the next 8years.

They definitely would have taken Billings and I'm thrilled we have him. Hopefully we sneak in Kelly via a trade somehow

Maybe so, but according to Twomeys draft according to best other mock drafts I've read he does not feature in.
Still reckon he could slide to mid 20s.
