Clear upgrade on Harper for mine. A better, harder, more accumulative version. Effectively, he's Garner, but with pneumonia and a shoulder reco instead of hamstring injuries.

He's also alot quicker and a better kick, finds the ball a lot more naturally as well.

Garner is noticably bigger.

Both hit hard.

Anderson is a mid/fwd.

Garner a fwd/mid.

If that makes sense.

ok so this took some thinking but could work for everyone

North:
Give: 15 + 34
Get: 18 + Anderson

Ess:
Give: Carlise + 41
Get: 15 + 21

Hawks:
Give: Anderson + 18
Get: Carlisle

Bris:
Give: 21
Get: 34 + 41

Wins all around :)
North get Anderson for a reasonable price
Hawks get Carlisle
Ess get 15 + 21 ... the equivelent of pick 8
Bris get extra points for academy players

Brisbane get screwed.

Also, I think the club has a pretty clear idea with him.

We copped a lot of flack over letting Greenwood go because it would restrict us from sending Ziebell forward.

Not only would this enable us to send Ziebell forward more, but we could interchange the two between forward and the center.

Would also be a pretty handy combo with Dumont if both can't run out full loads in the middle, could be used as a burst duo through the middle and half/forward
+ Garner will spend time in the middle

That means we would have only used 1 pick out of 4 in the draft and it is against their vague as shit coverage of the rules. I guess it is something we could ask them to clarify in the trade marathon radio, given they have nothing informative to talk about.

As I understand it we would then be forced to trade in another first round pick in the fourth years trade period

Richmond defender David Astbury and North Melbourne midfielder Ryan Bastinac have flown to Brisbane, where they will meet with Lions officials on Friday.

The Lions are one of a handful of clubs interested in Bastinac, who has two years to run on his contract with North, while Astbury could help the Tigers secure Carlton's Chris Yarran.

Brisbane, Richmond and the Blues are exploring a deal that would see the Lions secure Astbury and Tom Bell, Richmond land Yarran and Carlton add some more draft picks to their collection.

The Lions, who on Thursday released Matthew Leuenberger to Essendon as a free agent, have already reached a deal with Geelong for tall forward Josh Walker and midfielder Jarrad Jansen.

The Cats have agreed to trade the pair for a future third-round draft pick, which the club may look to involve in a deal for Gold Coast ruckman Zac Smith.

The Walker-Jansen deal is expected to be lodged shortly.
