Think of it this way, we'll secure a bunch of talented kids who can force these names out of the side and potentially out of the club. We're certainly positioning ourselves for a big turnover next year in the case of another failure. If we trade out/lose to FA a Pittard we'll be back in the first round or very close too.

We can only move on players who agree to be moved on or who are out of contract. Nothing else we can do. We dug the hole re: long term contracts, but we are doing the right thing to dig out. Load up on talent and force them to move.
Hunting for the pages of costanza realted gold and found this. Prescient.

- SPP has pushed HH out of the middle, into half back. Was touch and go for the first half of the season, but i think he has grown inyo the role.
- Houston has pushed Broady out of the side.
- Amon has pushed white out of the side.
- S Gary has pushed monfries out of the side.
- Dougal & Clurey have kept Trengove from returning to the backlines.
- Looks like Marshall has pushed Trengove out of the forward line.

Quite a bit of turnover of senior battlers.

Lobbe seems content to be a highly paid sanfl player, white and gus will probably retire. Jacko does not seem content with being a back-up, and i think Brogsy will be an interesting one to watch next year if he can't get a game.

So with this year done and dusted, was this trade period a success?

We traded this years pick 12 for pick 19 last year.

Then originally traded picks 9 (Oliver Florent), 19 (Hayward) and 49 (Darcy Cameron) to Sydney for picks 14 (Marshall), 17 (SPP) and 31 (Willem Drew)

Was last years trade a success considering we will miss out on pick 12 this year?

Would like to wait on at least seeing pick 12 in action, but at this stage, given SPP's immediate impact and Marshall looking good already, and taking the club on face value that they would've picked Marshall anyway, which effectively makes it Pick 12 for SPP and Drew, it seems a win at the moment.

Watch Pick 12 go and be a 10x Brownlow medallist from here though.

Would I use 2016 pick 11 on SPP again? Yep.
Would I use 2016 pick 49 on Atley again? Yep.
Would I use 2016 pick 67 on Drew again? Yep.
Would I use 2017 pick 12 on Marshall again? Yep.

I'd absolutely consider that to be a win.

We need to move on players in areas of overpoulation.

And repenish in the low areas.

With White Monfries Krack retireing and Young and Imp under perfoming we are desperate for link up HF players.

This is why Motlop and Menzel make sense as mutch as i hate it.

And they are getable.

I too would love to trade in Motlop and Menzel in the 2016 trade period. Reckon they might be worth at least 2 points in a final. ;)
