Would be happy enough with Brodie. Our midfield strength has been built around Fyfe, Neale, Mundy and Barlow in the clinches. We need replacements for the last two. Not sure where Balic will end up playing, but Blakely is the only youngster we can lock in as an inside mid.

Bring on Brodie. Potential No. 1 pick and contested/inside beast that didn't finish the year off as well as he would have liked, so slides to us at 7 - perfect!

I've wondered about that. He originally was the early odds on favourite for #1. Essendon even tried to get him playing for their VFL side. What's happened since? Has he fallen or has it just been a case of others peaking at the right time?

Still big on English personally, but if Brodie is available I'm all for that, think we need a to add an arrogant contested player to the mix, looks like he'll have an immediate impact as well.

There was a couple of young fellows talking for a long time to Ross on Monday then both sat behind the goals at the clubroom end and watched training. One was a big ruck type the other a small, Sonny size type. Did any one else at Mondays session recognise them. Some one mentioned Zac Fisher as the smaller youngster but I didn't think so. Some help from Danny the doorman or Gaskin please.

Sorry mate - looks like you have a case of premature celebration. Don't worry it can happen to anyone. Just leaves someone extremely disappointed for a while. Hopefully you will be satisfied tomorrow
Well poo lol being in the states I thought it was on Thursday

I think we will end up with either Brodie or Simpkin. I would probably prefer Simpkin as he seems to have more versatility to eb abel to play forward and midfield with pace and can hit the scoreboard a bit more. No knock on Brodie as i would eb happy wiht him also as he would proivide us with a bog body mid and would just be coming in to his prime as Fyfe would eb leaving his and be spending mroe time forward.

Also really hope that we dont draft like Anderson's phantom, they are all small forwards basically.

I have no idea who they were. We needed Harry Reems and his binoculars.

I don't want Brodie or English. I really want a mid with line breaking speed and elite skills.

I would like Jy Simpkin with our 1st pick assuming SPS is taken.
Bennell, Hill brothers, Walters, Weller, Langdon (needs to brush up on his kicking), Tucker, D Pearce (don't shoot me). We are well stocked for players that can play on the outside. I would prefer we get a contested ball winner with good disposal. After getting rid of Barlow, De Boer and Gu and with Mundy in the twilight of his career, if we don't go English i'd rather someone that can win the ball from the stoppage.

Wouldn't that at be Jason Carter, the Kimberley product? The ruck I am not so sure, maybe another Kimberley kid?

Im fairly content in knowing there will be plenty of talent available at our pick. Seems McGrath and mccluggage are basically zero chance while bowes and setterfield are off the table.

Even though i feel we need some genuine tall talent in the team im really hoping we take a mid with our first pick. With Barlow gone, mundy going i feel like the fyfe/neale combo is a great start and with Blakely showing plenty of potential we have the nucleus of our midfield for the next 7-8 years. Would love see an elite junior added to that mix who will no doubt get plenty of early gametime and develop quickly.

Based on that i would like to see us select one of Seton>Taranto>Ainsworth>brodie>Logue>scrimshaw in that order.

My biggest hope is that we take a "safe bet" rather than a speculative talent like scrimshaw, simpkin or english as i think in our current position with a rebuild going on a dud pick could stunt the teams growth. We need these early picks over the next 2-3 years to be good selections to set us up for our next realistic tilt at the flag.

Hopefully we can snag a development/speculative tall with one of our next 2 picks. Maybe jag a beauty like Alex Peace who was pick 37 from memory.

Thats my spin on sport.

If SPS/Taranto/Ainsworth aren't around I'm really warming up to Brodie. Might play a little too similar to Blakely but, as WB/Sydney have shown this year, that midfield depth is what wins you premierships.
