Isn't perryman a back flanker too?

Perryman in my view is best used as a midfielder but given GWS' midfield strength and depth it is likely that he will be able to be accommodated through the midfield. Fortunately for GWS he has the versatility to also play back or forward well, likely settling as a back.

IMHO Galucci looks a clone in playing style to Douglas
I ended up watching some of the highlights of Gallucci last night and that was the same reaction I had. Quite a few similar mannerisms. His kicking action is similar and he sprays those snap shots at goal the same way Dougie does.

Douglas at his best is a pretty handy midfielder and I would be OK with that but I am hoping for someone much better.

What player would you compare Hayward to?

Reminds me a lot of a young Brett Burton actually. Bit of Stevie J in terms of his desire for the footy in front of goals. Great goal sense. Reckon he's more mobile though and has the footy nous to be a mid.

Is Perryman as un-athletic and slow as the testing and comments suggest?

I see similarities to McGovern in terms of his marking and x factor but he is not a carbon copy of McGovern. I do think he will transition into midfield in the long term.
A little bit of Brett Burton in there Stiffy ? .....not the leaping, but yes there's no real comparison i can think of ?

He's not athletic but he's a baller - think Tom Rockliff.

He can have an AFL career and be terrific. He will get by athletically because he can get to every contest but he's just not anything special athletically.

can't say I've seen anything other what's floating around YouTube of Hayward but he looks a hell of a lot sharper covering the ground. Moves like a cat compared to Burton IMO.

Burton obviously had the great vert and was a great endurance runner but he didn't have the turning circle or the agility Hayward seems too.

Certainly some similarities, look the same too. More athletic than Douglas, more of a line breaker. If we grab him though you'd hope he'd be able to manage more than 2 A-Grade seasons...
I think that's a point to make when we're likening guys to players, don't think anyone is suggesting they see a bloke that'll win one jacket and then ride the coat-tails for the rest of his career :p

It's a very important sideshow to make sure that we take advantage of being one pick ahead of Port. I imagine lots of melts if it is deemed by the BF crowd that we have done worse than they did, especially if we do a Doodee-type "who" pick and they gobble up a BF favourite! Of course, the final reckoning can only occur after 5 or so years, but for PR purposes it would be better if our pick "looks" better than theirs tonight. ;)
