Yeah but you add say Douglas to the other three I mentioned and we get into the second round. Possibly 2 second rounders.
But we have too many players to replace, so would need to go deep in the draft unless we upgrade plenty of rookies.

No it's not - we all witnessed how he kept the playing group together.

Sometimes I wonder what goes through your brain...

Mate they are grown men, not a bunch of little boys.

Have you ever lost someone at your workplace? I have.. it's very sad but you get on with it because loss is part of life.

You really don't get it do you?

Losing those players gave us the draft picks to play with, which we used to trade for other players - without overly sacrificing our position in the draft. Our trading, whether it was Craig/Sando/Pyke in charge, has been limited to 1-2 fringe players, in every year that we didn't lose a player with significant trade value. There was no Gunston/Dangerfield type players who left during the Craig years, so no years of big trading. It really is that simple.

There has been NO CHANGE to Adelaide's trading policy since Craig left, which remains the same today as it was long before Craig was even appointed.

Are you suggesting that Pyke encouraged Dangerfield to look elsewhere? Or did someone encourage Gunston to go? Because that's the implication of your posting. The ONLY years we've been active at the trade table is when these players wanted "out". With the exception of Vince, nobody has been used as trade bait the way you suggest - not under any Adelaide coach.
I like how you're subtly trying to shift the argument towards "big trading" when I have only ever mentioned actually participating in the trade period. But since you're so hung up on the Dangerfield and Gunston trade periods as some kind of outlier let's take a look at our trade history thus far to see if this is really the case;

Now assuming nothing was different in regards to our approach towards trading throughout this whole time as you say, then how do you account for the fact that five of the six trade periods where we didn't trade in or out a single player coincided with the seven years Craig was at the helm? Remember we're not talking about "big" trades here, that was your mistaken interpretation of my position. Personally I find it odd that we only had one year outside of Craig's time where we didn't have the resources, even if it was just to pay for a fringe player.

I think you're very wrong here Vader, there was a reluctance on our part to trade during Craig's era and he played no small part in that.

Massive is a big call. A late first rounder and 2 average mids for one of the premier mids of the comp?

What do you reckon rockliff is worth in a hypothetical trade with the AFC?
I'd say Rockliff is the premier on ballet at Brisbane. He wouldn't be our best IMO, and not premier in the comp IMO either.

I'd give the pick and one of them. Or both but no pick.

Probably not that appealing to Brisbane I guess, but Rockliff isn't that appealing to me either.

Grown men who were clearly upset on a national stage & campo managed to steel them for a finals appearance, including a great win against the bullies.

You clearly don't understand human emotion nor the tremendous effort campo did to keep the playing group in track.

Honestly if you could concentrate on posting quality rather than quantity posts, this board would be a far better place.

Yeah they were upset, time passed, they processed.

As I said these were a bunch of grown men processing a loss, not a bunch of small children who needed to be hugged and told it would all be ok.

The fact you think they would have apparently fallen apart without Campo there just goes to show you're the one who doesn't understand human emotions.

There could well be an exodus at our club this year.
With talk of CEY, Hendo, Thommo, Lyons and Grigg going, I heard today that Dear has requested a trade?????
Why is it every year we wait till the end of the season before we sign people up?

If Geelong are going after Deledio or another big ticket player, then I'd be sniffing around the likes of Caddy, Duncan and Guthrie.

All are in that 24-25 y.o. 100 game bracket and would be in our starting midfield rotation.

Grigg's career has been such a disappointment. Was it the end of 2013 he started looking really good?

Brilliant side-step, good in traffic, nice left leg, goal sense. At a time we were battling for skillful mids too.

Has been out of favour since due to his form, competition for spots and some off-field stuff ups.

I doubt he'd fetch us anything on the trade table. Maybe a late pick another club isn't planning on using.
If you remember Grigg was also killed by the Sub rule, and he was dropped last year with alot here like myself saying he shouldnt have been.
He has had a good year in the SANFL and if we had more injuries he would have got a go.

He will be off to Carlton next year.

It might be low enough for him to realise that we were serious when we said he could be playing a bit of SANFL. Throw down a $500k contract on the table and he'd laugh it off as a joke.
STOP posting in the first tense as fact .......you have zero idea of what has been said .....it's simply your opinion / fantasy
