i wonder what happens to corey ellis. has enough traits to make me like him. gets labelled soft and slow but just seems like a JB lite.

would love us to take on some potentially busty 1st round picks if we get the chance

Have you checked the talent coming through at picks 1-5?
We haven't seen a lot Defacto.
We will know more by July when the Carnival is over.
Don't seem any harm for going for Whitfield as I said good size, pure mid, elite kick, speed and endurance pretty much matches what we lack.

Honestly, I'd love Whitfield, but I wouldn't be giving up this years first for him considering I think we'll have a top 5 pick. There are a couple there that look terrific and that would suit us very well.

I'd be happy to give next years up though and back us to improve our ladder position. Also GWS have 3 first round picks this year already IIRC so that might work out for them.

Toumpas types.

And two 2nd rounders.... Potentially 5 picks inside top 35 for GWS at years end

Likes of Broomhead, Jack Watts, Daniel Menzel

and 2nd rounders:
Tom Lamb, Vickers Willis, Harrison Wigg, Jack Steele, Sean Lemmens

note none of these players would require us to give up our first pick with most in the range of 30-50 value

no room for langdon?

I remain skeptical on Jaegar O'Meara coming to the Saints. Anyone saying he is 100% coming to Melbourne is full of it if you ask me. I doubt he has made up his own mind so how some randoms on a footy forum claim to know what he is thinking is beyond me. If the Suns keep winning games there is every chance he will stay and want to play finals. If I recall correctly it was BrianSpeaking who got this one started. But can I remind you he also claimed we were dead certs for Jeremy Cameron and Josh Kelly. I have a feeling he is the kind of guy that puts up multiple rumours and then when gets 1 in 10 right he claims 'I told you so'. I believe he definitely has some 'inside knowledge' but it is largely exaggerated and it certainly wouldnt extend to the inside of JO'M's mind.

Agree but JOM and Whitfield are about the only players left to talk about.
Other trades sound like Collingwood trading Kennedy for Howe rather back our boys.
I think if JOM and Whitfield re-sign we should just close the thread

If we have a pick outside the top 3 I'd definitely trade it for Whitfield. Straight swap, possibly throw in a later pick.

i would give up next years 1st rounder and then some for kelly he is superstar. i havent watch a lot of gws game i did last night and he is a freak on both sides. pure and utter class.

I'm fairly sure he's contracted. He'd be nice tho.

Our young guys were unbelievable yesterday, dunstan, billings, ross, webster, weller. We are defently on the right track and i believe we have more talent on our list then we think. With Longer, freeman, mckenzie, goddard, greshem, carlisle, mccartin (for a half) all absent yesterday. One more highish draft pick this year an if we can pull off a free agency scalp we will have a very strong list coming through. Very exciting times ahead

I've only seen bits of Whitfield, but I'd prefer Minchington and Sinclair to Whitfield. Same skill level, but our 2 can win ball on the inside as well as damage on the outside.

Don't really get the Whitfield love.

Whitfield is a much better player than those 2 at the moment.
