Yep Pick 2 for 3 and 13 or picks 2, 19 and 30 for picks 3 and 5. I'd happily pull the trigger on both deals. Not sure GWS will extract pick 5 from the Blues though.
I think they will with both pickett and marchbank wanting to end up at carlton

You'd think so but it is looking likely that the Blues will end up with pick 13 from the Crows in the Gibbs trade. I reckon they'll send that the Giants way with maybe a little extra thrown in to secure Marchbank and Pickett. From all reports the Blues are hell bent on keeping pick 5.

Oh yeh forgot about pick 13 and the gibbs deal, hopefully the giants hold on and get pick 5 but im not so confident on pick 5 anymore

I'm all for collusion!

Richmond want more than Prestia for pick 6, so I say we throw Hanley & 21 for 8, then GC can pass on 21 to Richmond. Give GWS whatever it takes for 3 & 5 (2, 19, 30). we still may get something for Green as goodwill from Essendon (even though they don't need to, clubs seem to like getting the deal done).

There's points in the draft all the way down to pick 73, and by the time clubs only take in as many picks as list spots, it wouldn't be surprising if lower picks don't slide up and increase in value. with the 197 point discount outside the top-18, a pick in the 30's can be matched with a couple of picks in the 50's, and players below pick 55 are free.
We could effectively throw picks 19, 21, 30 at whatever we can to move up the draft, hold 3 top picks, give 59 to Collingwood for Frost, and still have picks to get Allison / Watson (if we have list space).

#notgonnahappen

Nice one. I like the idea of trading 2 + 21 for GWS's 5 (via Calton), 15, 16. Hanley straight swap for 14 (looks like all we will get - though I'd offer next year's second rounder as well to see if they give up 8 or not).
Rocky + 15 for St. K's 10 and their future first rounder. Sounds like overs for St. K, but they weren't far off finals this year, and would probably think of the immediate return on their investment with a player like Rockliff in their lineup round 1 next season and could jump at it.
Leaving us with 5, 10, 14, 16, 19, 30, (and St. K's first next year).

Richmond, if they somehow balls up the deal for Prestia and are stuck with pick 6 burning a hole in their pocket, could be a better option than St. K, and Rocky + 15 for their 6 & 26 would be fair for both parties.
Leaving us with 5, 6, 14, 16, 19, 26, 30, 50

I wouldn't even rule out going truly ninja warrior style and then throwing 14, 16, 19 like a trio of shurikens at Freo for 7 + 42 (Allison cover).
Leaving us with either -
5, 7, 10, 30 + St K's first next year (Rocky goes St K)
Or; 5, 6, 7, 26, 30, 42, 50 (Rocky goes Richmond).

Port may possibly be a suitor for Rockliff. Pick 9 would be right on the money...interesting that Port is just about the only team with a pick in the top 10 that has not for one second been linked to any deals or players or anything. Haven't had a peep about them all trade period (apart from them and Hartlett).

Just to throw a fly in the ointment of many of these trades. Swallow to the GC from North is a chance of happening. The brothers like the idea of playing together and North and GC swapping 8 and 11 as part of this is a real possibility.

St Kilda are having a real crack at Tom Mitchell and have some traction as Hawks are in a world of pain trying to get both Mitchell and O'Meara in. Pick 10 may be part of that.

This is going to be a very complicated trade period with deals changing daily. It takes all the fun out of making up trades cause the clubs seem to be all looking at more complicated deals then previous years.

Yes, it makes all of this hypothetical stuff while interesting to read and something to pass the time, a largely fruitless exercise IMO.

Swallow and North could play middle man in the O'Meara trade to get it through then. Hawks' assets may be more willing to play in Melbourne for North than up on the Gold Coast.

If Sam Mitchell goes to West Coast it might start to open up some more options for Hawthorn to start getting the O'Meara and Mitchell deals done

Not sure how. Hawthorn wont be getting anything spectacular for him. All it frees up is one list spot and the small amount of cash Mitchell would of been getting paid next season.

Not sure it would have been that small. Mitchell himself said the move would free up the Hawks' salary space.

Of course it 'would'. But the amount wouldnt be greater then what they need to pay omeara or mitchell.
Clearly but it would help and they will surely offload a couple of lesser players and then structure salaries for the next couple of seasons to fit them both in.

The first bit of this really surprises me.

Wasn't it earlier this year that David Swallow went to see North's medical team about his knee after Gold Coast had stuffed up in the treatment/diagnosis of it?

What I've heard is that Suns can either bring in A.Swallow for overs or lose D.Swallow for unders after his contract this is what the Suns are fearing. Besides A.Swallow fits their needs as a mature midfielder. Been discussions past few weeks but no major progress as of yet. I like it.

Pick in the 30's, Brad Hill also brings in a 2nd rd pick and Vardy will bring in another pick. They will have a heap of picks in 2nd/3rd rd.
Tom Mitchell has been done for pick 14. Hawthorn will get it done thet are very good at what they do.

How will the Hawks get involved in the Hanley deal with no first round picks left?
I would believe that the list of 8 that they gave to Suns they would think that we would take them for Hanley. Do not do, we have clearly state picks Suns have clearly stated Players.

It would have to be a future first round pick. Something like:
Lions gain Hawks 2017 1st pick
Suns gain Hanley
Hawks gain O'Meara

Pretty sure both Lions and Suns would want extra though. I know I would.

Definitely the Suns would. Hanley doesn't equal O'Meara.

O'Meara is probably worth Hanley and their 2017 first pick. Especially if the Hawks are top 4 next year.
