2016 Trade/FA discussion (no hypothetical trades)

Im not entirely convinced. This is their full time job. Surely they have a good enough amount of time before the draft and trade periods. 1 week should be long enough.

I don't like the idea of them discussing trades during the season though. We also haven't had enough time since Fagan joined us for him to outline his strategy. Plus player movement is only going to increase.

We are an exception to the rule this year however regarding coaching situation.

Trades mid year shouldn't be discussed. But player movements should be allowed.

Hanley to Suns a done deal according to Hammo on Twitter

According to SEN it's
Hanley --> GC
GC 2 x 2nd picks --> PA
PA 2017 1st Rd Pick--> Lions

Twitter is saying Ports 2017 first rounder. Bloody good if true. They'll be rubbish next year.

I think ultimately anything but a first round pick of some description for Hanley would probably be a fail IMO.

If we had highly rated academy kids this year than multiple 2nd round picks might be ok, but we don't.

Hope something involving pick 8 and a swap of other picks is occurring.

As in a caller, or actual news?

Sorry, just feel it needs clarification rather than just "SEN".

Seems a strange trade from us if true. If Ballenden has a great year that pick will be used as points for him. Rather use those picks this year or package them for a higher pick while our academy prospects are expected to be be taken later in the draft.

That's a very good outcome if there's nothing else involved. Gold Coast would be happy too. Can't see Port finishing Top 6 next year and certainly not top 4. It will be Pick 12th-14th at worst in 2017. Port overrating their chances next year I reckon with this trade.
