Hurley won't be coming to the Tigers.

Borderline unprofessional treatment from the club in their overtures. Insulting money, no long term vision, not even a firm view of how he'd fit into the team.

Most disappointing mail I've had for years, and not because we're missing out on a player. My faith in the club has been seriously shaken off the back of what I've been told.
i read the same thing on PRE

The straw that broke the camels back for me when it comes to Brandon Ellis was on Sunday. He was making an arcing run out of the defensive 50, with no pressure and still managed to absolutely shank his kick which was lucky to go all of 20 metres forward and about 30 metres off to the side.

Send him to Adelaide for Cam Ellis-Yolmen and be done with it

I really don't know what happened to the Brandon Ellis we recruited. I honestly think Dimma has totally screwed up his confidence & his natural flair with his dumb-ass game-plan. After the first few years he was playing outstanding footy with excellent endurance, he was playing the outside roll to a tee. So if Dimma remains, I can't see Brandon playing the footy we got to see in his early years. Would prefer Dimma get his marching orders than a few of our kids that he has ruined with his defensive crappy game.

Exactly my point he would be huge assest as a taller marking flanker who works up the ground but also rotates through the middle. Somewhat the role they are trying to get jack to play , but it comes naturally to thomilson and he has the added endurance . current nick reiwoldt or richo late in career mould.

He strikes me as being in the mold of Adelaides Lynch, which is a player type I want us to have

His worst habit which he can't shake and I don't know why it hasn't been coached out of him, is by default he offloads the hot ball to a teammate in a worse position . I would estimate half of his possies are like this. The other half are full of u turns and a blaze away hoof. He needs a complete makeover and be rewired to use his wheels to go forward by default and use his peg to real effect

OMG couldn't agree more with this

There was one passage of play in the defensive half where he gathered the ball and then hanballed it to a guy running past, think it was Grigg, who had a defender breathing down his neck. Grigg got tackled, and then Brandon gathered the spill, ran about 10 metres, and then just bombed it in the air to nobody in particular under little pressure.

He avoids contact at all times and would rather put a teammate under the pump than cop a tackle or try to break from a pack himself. I do think he can get back to his best, he just needs a spell in the VFL and some decent coaching but at the minute nearly every disposal he makes is to the detriment of the team.

What are peoples thoughts on Tomlinson. Spoke to someone today with a very good source who said he was a certainty to be at a Victorian club next year. Apparently Carlton are the front runners.

Big enough to play key position but can play through the middle and is racking up big numbers in the 2's (not that that's hard in the NEAFL)

GWS need to find points for 3 Academy players. We need to get busy.

For a team that claims to be doing a "full rebuild" they are certainly chasing a lot of 22+ year olds. Kerridge, Lamb, Jones, Everitt, Phillips, Gorringe, Thomas, Wright and now apparently Prestia and Tomlinson. And that's not including younger guys they poached from other clubs like Docherty, Jaksch, Plowman and Sumner.

theyre just picking up a heap of spuds and hoping one or 2 come good

sos got no clue what hes doing

So I assume that PRE poster is talking about Dan Richardson (and maybe Hartley) in relation to the discussions with Hurleys manager ?
If true we are complete amateurs and I now totally understand why we never land any decent talent from other clubs.
If true it sounds like our offer wasn't in the ball park which sounds like us.
However the No long term view or even know where we are going to play Hurley i think is total bullcrap. We made an offer without any plans. We are not that amateurish.lol

And plus, does anyone think that if players were involved and the like that this would've been so hush hush that we only hear about it when the deal falls through, not on your life, someone only has to fart down at Richmond and it's front page news let alone a potential meeting between Hurley and the tigers.
And one more thing, don't managers of players go to the clubs with their price which is then, " yes were interested or no we are not " on the spot.

Take all the bad things about this place and multiply it by 1,000,000, but make it exclusively about Richmond. And settle on a look for your website around 2002 and then never make it any more modern.

That Hurley thing isn't even remotely true by the way
The funny thing is most of the fools over there believed it.

sounds a lot like what happened with Treloar and Bennell, and probably greenwood and anyone else that we have failed to sign.

The post on PRE was on the "rumours" board. So depending on the reliability of the poster (or hisi source ) it could have legs or could be as you say crap. Don't read enough stuff on PRE or from that poster to know.
If the rumour has legs I find it a bit strange that we'd even bother putting an offer to Hurley if it wasn't in the ball park. Imo a bit unprofessional.

Pending what they were asking i guess.
