We are close if we want to be, this trade period will determine if we want to be.

If we are talking rebuild than there is no point breathing air, as our elite talent that carry this team will all be retired/close to retirement by the time we get to our window which won't open because we will be relying on superstars like Brandon Ellis, Ben Lennon and Nick Vlastuin to get us there.

We should be going after every player that would improve us under 24. Prestia, Mitchell, Steele should all be on our radar, or should've been before they nominated certain clubs.

We should trade next years first because if we aren't going to get any better next year we may as well start trading out our stars to kick start a rebuild.

Grab a couple of draft picks in 20-40 range, upgrade Short.

Give grimes a rookie list spot and some other mature player like that bloke from GC.

Trade this years first and next years first. Bring in talent and see what happens.

If you want to feel better just remember we don't have hacks like White, Howe, sold the future for Treloar and have just offered a 32 year old a 3 year deal worth over $1m

Reality is Lids is an unrestricted free agent next season. Im not as confident we woukd get an as good pick/ player with said pick than what we will this year.

In saying that, I can't stomach Lids leaving...

Was always going to work that way.... It isn't an equalisation measure. In fact it's the polar opposite.

Simple fix is reduced salary cap to sides who make finals X amount of times in X amount of years and increase those that haven't. It would be more beneficial to brisy Bears to have a higher salary cap for a few years than get an extra first round pick as that will take a few years to come to fruition. Players are getting more money hungry each year, will chase dollars of they can get it.

I don't mean ahead in terms of success, I mean in the timeline. Their 09,10,11 was our 13,14,15 for example. The pattern continued the same way with their 12 and our 16, the difference is they sacked their coach.

Good luck getting a top four pick from our socks unless we give away Martin, Rance or Cotchin. Trading future first round selectuons is a big gamble. Our list isn't in the right shape for it

I've been hoping Tom Mitchell would get traded for two seasons. He is an inferior player to Isaac Heeney. 20 possessions from Isaac is better than 35 from Mitchell. Add to that we have Mills (Rising Star Winner) who is also an inside midfielder and it's clear that Mitchell was surplus to requirements.

I would like to keep Nankervis but he is probably the 4th ranked ruck behind Tippett, Naismith and Sinclair.

I love watching Alex Rance play and believe he is the games greatest ever key defender. He is better than Silvagni or Scarlette. Do people agree.

Agree but keeping Mitchell is even better imo.
