10/10 would prefer, but doubt it would happen.Forget Aaron Hall. Jack Martin please.
16th best mid in the AFLNo thanks. We need someone better
5th best in our side if he stayed.16th best mid in the AFL
Shit we're good!5th best in our side if he stayed.
Are these the same rankings that have Justin Westhoff as elite?16th best mid in the AFL
Well yes we are. The guy is a good player, no doubting that but I had no issues showing him the door.Shit we're good!
Afl player rankings - no idea about the HoffAre these the same rankings that have Justin Westhoff as elite?
I reckon he's a terrific utility. Forward or back mid rotation and great overhead. Great kick.10/10 would prefer, but doubt it would happen.
Seriously, we do not need any more outside mids. People rip into Milera for going missing and lazy defence, Atkins for tackling like Tinkerbell and going missing, Dmac for being too light and going missing, Cameron for going missing and spraying kicks...
The common denominator here is they are outside midfielders. They rarely win their own ball, some don't tackle, all go missing at times. In the modern game, tackling and contested ball is more important than ever, and as such the inside/outside mid has become vital.
I see Hampton as a super quick, tackling, evasive outside/in midfielder, whom will both provide offense and defense. Similar to Charlie, but Hampton can win more o his own ball. IMO, he comes in for our least performed outside mid next year.
Gallucci to, tackles well, fast, good field kicking, ability to win own ball. Almost the prototype modern day outside midfielder.
The elite outside midfielders going forward aren't Atkins/Hall/Dmac types. The best example of a modern day outside mid in the competition right now is Josh Kelly. Completely capable of racking up touches inside when needed and an absolute gem skill wise.
To trade in outside mids in our current list position is mental.
I'm not a fan of drafting utilities as they never really prosper in the one position, but J. Martin could/would be a serious player in our system. Can play a lot of roles, but given a staple Mid/fwd role he would be a very handy pick up. Not worth what we'd need to give though, imoI reckon he's a terrific utility. Forward or back mid rotation and great overhead. Great kick.
That doesn't bother some.Doesn't everyone who has a rumour do that? Of course you'd believe the information that you've heard from the sources themselves.
Redhorse is just like everyone else who posts rumours, doesn't seem like he wants to post it though, for some reason
Won't happen.Thoughts on trading for David swallow?
Think Don is big on players playing multi positions iirc.I'm not a fan of drafting utilities as they never really prosper in the one position, but J. Martin could/would be a serious player in our system. Can play a lot of roles, but given a staple Mid/fwd role he would be a very handy pick up. Not worth what we'd need to give though, imo
More chance of his brother joining him, close to happening last year.Won't happen.
Wouldn't mind it if it could, his injury history worries though
He will be electric on grand final day.I would happily trade Charlie Cameron
NOW it’s getting ugly. The report out of Melbourne this week that Jake Lever had met with Melbourne officials and players was flatly denied by the Crows young gun.
That didn’t deter sports journalist, Sam McClure from wading in again and effectively calling Lever a liar.
“He’s not being truthful….He met with them”, McClure insisted.
They sound like fighting words, or at least the sort of words that can land someone in court for defamation – if they’re not true.
However, whether or not the two parties met is the least of the Crows problems.
They fully expected it would happen - like Geelong courted Travis Boak, Collingwood wooed Lin Jong and the Crows tried to recruit Bryce Gibbs.
It’s important to note that the Crows pay 100 per cent of their salary cap.
While another club might pay those two a ridiculous amount to entice them away from Adelaide, the Crows, despite our urgings, will not match silly offers to keep them. They simply don’t have the room in their salary cap.
Adelaide is trying to emulate the strategies of the two great teams of the 21st century, Geelong and Hawthorn.
Both those clubs built their teams around a culture of mateship, team spirit and sacrifice.
The concepts that “team is more important than personal success” and “a premiership medallion is priceless” surely aren’t that hard to sell.
He will be electric on grand final day.
If we don't trade in any like for like replacements, who would you have replacing Lever and Cameron in the team?
At the moment I'd have:
Lever - Doedee (ahead of Otten, Cheney and Keath)
Cameron - Menzel (ahead of Milera)

Started the season off really strongly until he dislocated his shoulder at the end of the Hawthorn game in round 8. Haven't seen much of Brisbane of late but since returning from that shoulder injury his output has really dropped off.Is Rockliff any good anymore? Or has the cumulative effect of injuries caught up with him?
