What makes you say this? Interested to hear what makes you think he'd be absolutely valuable to us

Probably because inside midfield is the weakest part of our squad still

Tipped this early in the season, this kid is too good to not be playing AFL every week, a goal kicking midfielder that's rarely played midfield when he does get the call up to AFL. If we are seriously looking at strengthening our midfield group we should be all over Lukas. Would not cost a lot either in cap space or collateral. Just needs the opportunity.

Rival clubs are circling versatile midfielder Lukas Webb ahead of the AFL off-season

WESTERN Bulldogs could lose one of its talented young midfielders as rivals circle versatile ball winner Lukas Webb.
The 21-year-old has struggled to lock down a senior berth in his third AFL season and is weighing up his future.
The Dogs are keen to keep Webb and have offered him a deal to stay for at least the next two years.
But the No.27 draft pick is eyeing more senior AFL opportunities and looks set to wait until after the season to make a decision.
The depth and strength of the Dogs’ young gun midfield means Webb’s best chance to cement a permanent onball position could be interstate.
Gold Coast could make a play for Webb to help bolster its thin midfield following a string of player departures including Jaeger O’Meara, Dion Prestia and potentially Gary Ablett.
Webb, from Gippsland, lost his senior place on the eve of the Dogs’ stunning finals campaign last year and was again omitted from the team for Friday night’s loss to Greater Western Sydney.
The goalkicking midfielder has averaged 11 possessions across nine senior games over the past two seasons, including only four senior matches this year.
The Dogs have smartly retained their priority young premiership stars from poaching raids but midfield pair Webb and Clay Smith appear the most vulnerable to other offers after stints in the VFL.
Webb’s form in the VFL has been strong, kicking four goals in a best on ground performance against Coburg three weeks ago.

It was Hayden Crozier's mum who started bawling her eyes out on draft night, looks he's going to go on to sign another contract extension there.
I don't know about Crozier but Balic's mother nearly had a coronary when he was drafted interstate, the upshot was his father offered him $70,000 to stay home, it was all over the media at the time.

Yeah Crozier's mum was inconsolable, maybe mothers just have a justifiable fear of Ross Lyon coaching their sons

Disgraceful behavior by the parents to attempt to prevent him from following his dream.

Not sure I'd ever come back after that.

Funny you say that I've heard both Montagna today and Reiwoldt a few weeks ago on AFL Nation with Pete Donegan both speak in glowing terms of Ross Lyon in his time at the Saints, I think it might just be a public perception thing.

99% of parents would just be happy their son got drafted.
Was never going to stay in freo. Really dont understand why they drafted him when they wouldve known about his desire not to leave victoria and his idiotic parents.

Victorians are the USA of Australia.

They'd struggle to pinpoint Perth on a map.

IIRC Balic was meant to be a top 15-20 pick. At 38 they could afford to take the risk for his talent. Unfortunately it hasn't paid off

Way to make a kid an insecure mummy boy. Typical dick parents over coddled
