Sounds like we might be grabbing a DFA then once the period opens. Trying to think who would be up there in terms of wants/needs for us. Only guys that are coming to mind are maybe Ben Kennedy and Aaron Mullett. Ben Lennon or Tom Lamb could be worth a crack if they get delisted. Dan Menzel, Anthony Miles and Kade Stewart I'd all expect to re-sign with their clubs but any one of them I'd love to get on our list for next year.

Do you think there will be more?

7 senior list players gone: Gibbs, Jaksch, Gorringe, Sumner, Armfield, Palmer, Buckley.

7 senior players in for 2018: Kennedy, Lang, Lobbe, 3, 10, 30, 73.

3 rookies out in Sheehan, Korcheck and Galucci so space for 3 new ones.

I guess the rookie or DFA pickups may change that. If one more goes I'd prefer it's Graham, I feel like we've seen all we're going to get from him while Boekhorst has shown a bit of a higher ceiling in his late season form.

I'd rather white before Graham or boek.

10 out. Army, Gibbs, Palmer, Sheehan (all 26+) plus Buckley, Jacksh, Gorringe, Korcheck, Sumner and Gallucci.

3 in so far. Kennedy, Lang, Lobbe.

Picks 3, 10, 30 makes six ins. One DFA and two Rookies makes 9.

Maybe we do use that pick 73 after all.

It's a shame as he had a couple of quality games early this year and then everything just fell apart.
Was just about unrecognisable to the player we saw in the past couple of years, when fit. All the best Gus. :thumbsu:

Don’t discount making room for another Cat B rookie from Ireland as the pushing point from a further year.

By my count we now have 36 on the main list and 3 on the rookie. 8 spots total to fill

Um, 5 spots to fill (not including Cat B rookies).
Assuming the standard 40/4 split, that's 4 senior spots and 1 rookie.

So #3, #10, #30 and either #73 or a DFA, and then #3 in the rookie draft.

Im thinking its a 4/2/1 split (4 x ND, 2 x Rookies, 1 x DFA)
Sheehan was a cat B rookie, so we've only got one rookie pick at this point, though apparently we're looking at McDaid, a potential Irish recruit.

What numbers do we have to have, for some reason I thought it was 40 and 4, but even with my calculations we have lost 10 got 3 back so we should need 7 for a full list so is it 42 and 4.
On a side note is JGM still on our list?

Known senior listed players out of contract this year who may not get a new one (assuming Smedts still has another year):
7. Dylan Buckley
12. Blaine Boekhorst
32. Nick Graham
43. Simon White

We have 35/4 list at the moment. Add Kennedy, Lang and Lobbe and it's 38/4. Add the first three ND picks (3, 10, 30) and it's 41/4. We therefore need to delist one player on that basis just to get the primary list down to the max allowable of 40. Palmer is one talked about as being delisted and paid out, so let's pretend it's him and we're left with the remaining players above.

For every DFA we are interested in, we have to delist one of those guys. For argument's sake, there might be one DFA and we delist Buckley.

So, which one of Boekhorst, Graham or White is not valued as important as anyone left at pick 73 in this draft? I get the impression Boekhorst has one year left to prove himself. Nick Graham is, at worst, very good to have in the VFL side and White is similar as well as someone they seem to keep wanting around for depth.

So, like I said, I think it's unlikely we use pick 73. This is particularly the case if we pick up two DFAs.

We have a Father Son in this draft ( Liam Hickmott) .73 may be used on him.
