Take it with a grain of salt. This is what I thought as well.
Never heard the Silvagni connection before.

Sheil, Hopper, Finlayson would be my preferred targets.
I'd settle for Sheil & Patton though
Finlayson is the one I'd be targeting. Lives just down the road from MacReadie.
Key forward who hasn't debuted ahead of Cameron, Patton and Lobb.
Actually plays both ends and does it pretty well. Has a bit of pace too. Be surprised if you couldn't pick him up with a Palmer type deal tbh or as a DFA. Will likely be a victim of the Giants TPP plight.Finlayson is a medium defender?

What happens with Ben Silvagni for that year? At this stage its reported he'll go in the 1st round.
We use later picks/points for him. That's why we'd sooner let go of the '18 and not the '17.......if we had a choice.
Tom looks the goods as well if this is anything to go off. http://websites.sportstg.com/team_i...192674729&client=1-3817-57866-408665-25192970What happens with Ben Silvagni for that year? At this stage its reported he'll go in the 1st round.
I'm still getting used to this points system.
Hopper
All good, that's exactly why it's there!Jimmie, hope you don't mind. I followed your CFC teamboard link. That's a nifty tool for selecting teams, playing around with structures etc.
Oh yeah, and I agree. Role players can be really valuable, freeing up the guns to be creative, ply their tricks etc. They are the stepladders for the elite.
I'm more concerned that Hunter S Thompson might be lurking....Pretty sure I saw Sonny lurking about.
That won't end well...
I vote for no only because I feel Cunningham will offer a similar output in 2018
One thing is for sure, we're going to have some serious cash to play with in 2018.
We'd already have plenty of cash to play with, and it looks all but certain that we'll have plenty more given the players out of contract at the end of next year.
We may well have to spend big on someone just to meet the minimum requirement heading into 2018.
Ah, Peter Wright who shall never again be referred to by that crap nickname.Imagine adding another 5-6 young guns next year plus Josh Kelly & Peter Wright. That's a rebuild
Love it.Trade our 2018 1st rounder for Hopper .
Bring in Fyfe for free as a FA with a heavily front loaded contract to avoid a Freo match .
Trade Gibbs for Adelaide's 2017 1st rounder .
Take our 2017 1st rounder and Adelaide's to the draft .
Take B.Silvagni for unders in 2018 .
The right WrightAh, Peter Wright who shall never again be referred to by that crap nickname.
When we get him he shall be known to all and sundry as 'Big Wrighty', as opposed to 'Little 'Wrighty'.
Settled, yeah?
Dylan Shiel, 23
Jonathon Patton, 23
Devon Smith, 23
Josh Kelly, 21
Jacob Hopper, 19
Zac Williams, 22
Adam Tomlinson, 23
Matt Kennedy, 19
Harrison Himmelberg, 20
Matt Buntine, 23
Adam Kennedy, 24
Jeremy Finlayson, 20
Steve Johnson, 33
Dawson Simpson, 27
Nice list of out of contract players on GWS's list this year
Shiel and Patton would be nice SOS *nudge nudge wink wink*
I'm sure a number of those guys will be pretty keen to throw away a shot at premiership success over the next 2-3 years to move to a club in the bottom half of the ladder.
Does the distribution of the salary even affect their ability to match the offer sheet? I know it seems logical, but if all they have to do is stump up the same amount over the same period, front-loading might not cut it.Bring in Fyfe for free as a FA with a heavily front loaded contract to avoid a Freo match
