The combine is only part of it. I've watched plenty of his underage gameplay as well. He's to short to be a sit at home forward. Too slow to lead from anywhere deep in 50, turns slower than Justin Koschitzke and can't clear a jam tin with a jump off both feet. He did alright at underage level cos he had a pretty filled out frame and he can kick straight. And if you are referring to his draft combo results think it is well known he was on 1 leg with a injured ankle. Actually has very good endurance for his size
You do realise that scoring is not a direct correlation to how good or bad a defence is, but is usually due to the number of inside 50 entires due to how good or bad a midfield is?Unfortunately for you I'm not losing this argument
Although as I already said, and seemingly everyone except you agreed to disagree.
Now, given they a percentage noticeably higher than ours it seems to imply, contrary to your argument that they score more than us OR they keep their opponents from scoring less than us. And given you are so exceedingly adamant that our defence is better then it's fairly obvious they score more.
I mean there are others like the other Riewoldt, Taylor Walker, Scache from Lions, Hawkins etc. But Hogan is a good one.really? I don't watch too much melbourne
Here's to hoping you're wrong, I will back the club and hope the kid plays 200 gamesThe combine is only part of it. I've watched plenty of his underage gameplay as well. surely bruce isn't that far behind those guys?I mean there are others like the other Riewoldt, Taylor Walker, Scache from Lions, Hawkins etc. But Hogan is a good one.
Ok so hang on. You're saying Melbourne's midfield is not better than ours and their forwards are not better than ours. Then you say scoring is not related to defence but F50 entries. If their midfield is so shit, then how do they have more entries and therefore more points than us this season? Or would you rather go with their midfield is worse so they have less entries but they are better at converting entries to goals? Either way, you're conceding that either their forwards or mids are better than ours genius. You do realise that scoring is not a direct correlation to how good or bad a defence is, but is usually due to the number of inside 50 entires due to how good or bad a midfield is?
There you go. I've taught you something today.

Gee I hope he turns out well too don't get me wrong. I just don't think he will. Here's to hoping you're wrong, I will back the club and hope the kid plays 200 games
Bruce from most of what I've seen. Especially in 2015, took nearly all of his marks on the lead as opposed to in packs, which McCartin looks better at.surely bruce isn't that far behind those guys?
p.s. not sold on bruce
I didn't say he couldn't run far, just that he's not fast. Unless he plays a Tom Lynch role where he consistently leads way out of 50 to get a mark and then kick to someone else I don't see how he makes it at afl level. You couldn't be further from the truth, it's like you are playing opposites or are just getting Battle mixed up with someone else. He is an elite endurance runner. You could say his running ability is like a young Roo.
Think thats a pretty good starting pointRE: Battle, they took him cos he shows a decent understanding of when and where to lead to and he kicks fairly well.

I've said all along their mids are better than ours. Do you even read what I've been writing?!Ok so hang on. Hogan doesn't take a lot of contested marks mate. In fact he averaged only 0.2 more a game than Bruce last year. It's not his strength at all.Hogan.
LMAO. No you didn't hahaha. You laughed at the concept of them having a better midfield than us earlier especially after Clayton Oliver, you were of the opinion that their entire midfield was shit and we'd pass them, then when I point out they have a better midfield you move to the forwards then when I point out they've scored more than us and let their opponents score less this year in you move back to the mids. Make up your mind mate.I've said all along their mids are better than ours. Do you even read what I've been writing?!
Better midfield = more inside 50s = more heavy scoring due to weight of numbers
Is that simple enough for you!?
Ok. Now you're just making shit up. I've said all along that's their midfield is better than ours, but our forward & defence lines as a whole (not individuals) are better than theirs.LMAO. Sure thing. I can't be arsed arguing with you anymore, especially when you consistently resort to personal attacks so have a nice day, no hard feelings. <3Ok. Now you're just making shit up. OK thats sorted now we can move onto Membrey who has a % conversion rate equal or higher than most forwards.Sorry I should've said (Exceedingly rarely able to take a pack mark) My bad.
Mate, I'm sorry, but you really do have NFI
Open your eyes.
There you go. I've taught you something today.
You mean where your first reaction is to question my intelligence? Don't worry I'm not insecure enough to be actually concerned by it, but I tried to at least talk about the topic and not subtly imply you're an idiot. Is that simple enough for you!?
Not this year he doesn't lol. I wish he'd go back to Membrey last year but so far he's been terrible.OK thats sorted now we can move onto Membrey who has a % conversion rate equal or higher than most forwards.
I will concede the fact that McCartin can't stay on the field.
Post tripe & get called out for it.You mean where your first reaction is to question my intelligence? Don't worry I'm not insecure enough to be actually concerned by it, but I tried to at least talk about the topic and not subtly imply you're an idiot.
I never said most people agreed with me...Post tripe & get called out for it.
As for most people agreeing with you, I suggest you go back through our banter & look at the number of 'likes' for each of our posts.
You're on a hiding to nothing.
But it's all good mate. I love banter & love being called names. I love having my intelligence questioned. It means I give a shit about my club, just as you do too.
No hard feelings. Go Saints!
