In terms of skills - once the girls who haven't had to stop playing or come from other sports come through, it'll be fine.

AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Under the new tier payment rules for 2019 a club can have a max. of 3 players in tier 1. Any thoughts on who we'd pick? I'm thinking Sab, Batesy and I would've said Kashy, but if she's heading back to Vic, I'm not 100% on a 3rd.
First round of expansion club signings to be announced this week I believe.
Ashmore to North if the word is correct. :/ Not sure on others.
Yep...The Roos have targetted Brisbane’s Victorian players... Ballarat-born speedster Kaitlyn Ashmore....A certain Club President is pretty vocal on this... lobbying the AFL to step in and limit how many players they can take ....Collingwood appears the foundation club set to be most effected by the expansion, Mo Hope, Jasmine Garner, Emma King and Jess Duffin, who is good friends with Kearney, all linked to a move to Arden Street.
Brother plays for Box Hill if I'm correct.Ashmore is a Victorian, originally from Ballarat and played for Melbourne Uni (who have ties with North) for years in the VWFL/VFLW.
Also hearing that Nicole Hildebrand will also head back to Victoria.
There's also a star born and raised Queenslander that could be heading South. I'm not in a position to mention the name yet (was given to me in confidence) but I believe the possible move is due to personal reasons rather than a poaching by any specific club.
Maybe Woosha, but i am sure she will be poached by North as well.Under the new tier payment rules for 2019 a club can have a max. of 3 players in tier 1. Any thoughts on who we'd pick? I'm thinking Sab, Batesy and I would've said Kashy, but if she's heading back to Vic, I'm not 100% on a 3rd.
I've inherited a side this year but the ones who have 3-4 years under their belt by under 13s are generally OK as long as they have been coached well.In terms of skills - once the girls who haven't had to stop playing or come from other sports come through, it'll be fine.
Agree, down here in the GJFL I've seen a handful of U15 and U18 girls games of which the U15 girls appear to have better skills. Senior women's league has also started in Geelong but I'm yet to see a game.I've inherited a side this year but the ones who have 3-4 years under their belt by under 13s are generally OK as long as they have been coached well.
There are plenty of girls at under 11 who are as good as the boys, but the boys seem to generally develop better kicking skills.
But ....not always. My daughter has made a number of rep sides and there was a girl pumping 35m low passes off each foot. Seriously her foot skill level was higher than some of the boys in the state side at the same age. (12s)
So the girls leagues will start seeing higher standards from this year's intake.
Randall & Stanton signed by North-Tassie.
With the Gold Coast, they will take their 4 from us, will attempt but fail to lure players from any other clubs and will have to take the rest in the draft... Generally pleased!!!Gee not looking forward to when GC enter the comp, Gill will change the rules and half our list will mosey on down the road...generally pleased!!!
