Has Chol definitely been delisted ??? Cant see anything about it on the usual sites

Drummond & Townsend should be the players delisted to make space imo

Lewis looks good with his clearances and attack on the ball but looks extremely slow in the clip as i have not seen him play whats his tank and pace like for people who may know

Read the write up that RT posted ^^ by Chris. Explains Lewis' abilities in depth.

I get the feeling that everyone is after pace this draft. Slower players will be sliding.
Whether that helps us, I don't know.

Adelaide has three first rounders..
Just heard from a mutual friend that Ned McHenry’s mum is looking for a place over there. Would make sense.

Yes and no. We love pace, and need more of it. But we desperately need tough smart inside mids - where pace is less of an issue. So if a genuinely high quality inside mid slips to us :thumbsu:

We'll see how it pans out, but I reckon we aren't against taking quality at the expense of speed.

We can have both no need to compromise Ely Smith will most likely there at our pick and i dont think we should pick slow arse players no matter what position they play

For those interested in a possible trade with Gold Coast. They currently have 34 players on their list, meaning they can take up to 6 players in the draft, which also means unlikely they trade out 24 & 29 for later picks unless they made a trade with Port/Adelaide to move down to get extra first round picks.

You'd have to think Adelaide would have to sell the farm pretty much to get it done.

As it is #LOLBrowne reckons they are looking at dealing with the Saints to get pick 4. Not sure I'd be moving back from pick 4 if I was the Saints unless the Crows again offer the whole farm to get the pick.

RICHMOND
Gaining Tom Lynch was significant. Over the last two seasons he has rated above average for every measure for a key forward. His best came in 2016, where he averaged three goals per game.
A nothing article written by an apprentice I'd say.

I was pretty sure they had 36 currently on their list not 34
Unless they have delisted someone in tge last 24 hours

Looking at clubs with (currently) picks after our 17 & before our 37 and who may also be after inside mids. Bolded the clubs/picks that are biggest threat for any remaining inside mid talent.

Brisbane - 18, 30, 35, 56. Not sure what Brisbane need. Think they'll need 30 or 35 to match for McFadyen & think they'd be keen on Tom Berry with the other.
GWS - 19, 25, 52. Have ruckman Briggs in their academy but probably not bid til after 25. Probably best available with preference for country kids?
West Coast -20, 22. Jarred Cameron bid will be after these picks. Probably after pace more than inside.
Adelaide - 21. Inside mids & local probably their priority.
Melbourne - 23, 28. Will be after pacy outside, not inside.
GC - 24, 29. Like GWS, probably best available. Best hope is they grab midfielders early so use these picks on other types.
Sydney - 26, 33. Definetely after inside mids, but think both these picks are used for Blakey points.
Bulldogs - 27, 32. One of these picks used for F/S West, may still want the other also for midfielder. Even if we bid for West at 17 ( or 19, whatever it is ) 27 will match with 32 not dropping past our 37. Hopefully there is an earlier bid.
Fremantle - 31. Jason Carter unlikely to get a bid before this. Think Freo need fast small/medium forwards more than inside mids?
Essendon - 34. Just know that these shitcampaigners will pick the player we are holding our breath to see if they last til 37. We may need some sort of slight trade to get ahead of Freo at 31 unless there are still several suitable options we are happy with.
St Kilda - 36. After pacy midfielders rather than inside.

Yep Essendrugs all over Ely Smith if he's still there at 34. If so I hope O'Halloran slips to our second. It's a fascinating draft this one. If it is inside mids we need, there's a few decent ones around our picks. You'd think we'd be after Stocker or RCD with our first.

Liam Stocker would be a good pick up. Skillful clearance player who is ready made. We are tipped to get him with our first pick. A big midfielder would be handy with second pick and solid quick left footer with third pick. Then a mature age midfielder with fourth pick. Maybe another quick after that if there’s any leftover

Stocker has Fremantle written all over him unfortunately. Would love him at our pick

Who will turn out better, Stocker or Ely Smith?

We should grab the one at 17 who is the most likely to be a beast

From what I've read Ely is more athletic, he finished in the top 10 at the combine for agility, vertical jump and endurance (yo-yo) . Stocker is more skillful but didn't have any top 10 results at the combine. So I guess it could go either way.

On potential id take Ely

The natural athleticism makes his ceiling much higher imo, we dont really have a freak athlete (as far as leap, etc) mid atm, i think we need one. Think Fyfe, that type of leap to go with the speed and strength could be amazing.

He played one game and had 32 disposals.
Based on this it might be an idea to reach for him at 17.

Big and athletic, pure midfield type, this sort of player can excel at AFL level and addresses a dire need of ours.

Would be worried about Stocker ending up too slow/vanilla, ie like his comparison player, Jack Steele.

If we can get Smith at 17 and someone else decent at 37, I'd be happy. Or we can somehow trade into the 20s using next year's first rounder and then get a few highly rated kids this year, Smith included.

Take one of Barlow or Greenwood (if he doesn't re-sign) as depth and get another ruck later in the draft, and we're all set.

Yeah I posted that we should take Smith “early” a few pages back too. Most draft watchers have him pegged outside the top 20 and I can’t understand why. Maybe we’re missing something?
