Towna - Could be rookied, Chol and Drummond delisted, Chol may be offered a lifeline.
Soldo must have re-signed as no mention.

Richmond has finalised its list changes ahead of today’s deadline.

The Club is committed to retaining Jacob Townsend in the upcoming Rookie Draft, but understands his right as a delisted free agent to explore his options with other clubs.

Richmond’s General Manager – Football, Neil Balme, said the Club had open discussions with 25-year-old Townsend.

“We would love for Jacob to remain at Richmond and he knows there is a spot for him at the Club,” Balme said.

“He is well within his rights as a delisted free agent to look for new opportunities and should they arise, we will support his decision."

The Club has also advised Nathan Drummond and Mabior Chol they will not be offered new contracts.

Chol, 21, joined the Club as a rookie at the end of 2015 and made one senior appearance for the Tigers.

“Mabior has shown promising signs over the past three seasons and the Club will consider its options over the coming weeks,” Balme said.

Drummond, 23, played five senior matches in what was an injury-interrupted four-year tenure at the Club.

A former Murray Bushranger, Drummond was recruited to the Tigers with pick No. 52 overall in the 2014 AFL National Draft.

“I really feel for Nathan, he has had a rotten run with injuries,” Balme said.

“He has suffered two serious knee injuries since joining the AFL system and has struggled to consistently play football.

“He has always held his head high and been the ultimate professional, even when he was going through tough patches.

“This was a difficult decision for the Club to make. We have no doubt Nathan will forge a successful career in whichever path he decides to take.”

Not shocked on Chol or Drummo. Glad there’s a spot for Towner if he wants it. No commitment to Chol being redrafted on the rookie list though

All the best too all 3 lads.
Fell sorry for Drummond. Was never able to really get going.

We're really cleaning out the list this year. Either there is some salary cap issues, or we are structuring for next year I guess.

Lots of picks possible. Renewal of th elist and all that. Hopefully Towner and Chol get a lifeline. Although Mr Townsend might well get picked up by another club. He's well worth an AFL spot.

Still think Moore may get upgraded to the main list so we don't have to use that pick 92 (which admittedly will be somewhere in the early 80's after all academy and f/s picks)

34 senior players, 1 rookie with possibly 2 more being rookied.
Leaves up to 6 live picks in the draft. picks 17, 37, 64 ,68, 74 and 92

I'm a bit lost with our list restructure this season. We've obviously got a sight cap issues.

Seeing Lloyd, Conca, Miles, C.Ellis depart has left a hole in our 2nd tier midfield depth. I can only guess we're looking to reload with MIDs in this draft as it bats fairly deep. Even so we've not progress our draft hand much given the departures.

Coupled with the loss of Hampson, Griffiths & Chol we've also lost depth with to timber. Soldo is along way from being an AFL ruck, and I've heard were targeting a mature ruck (Tom Campbell? Or some mature ager from SA).

So we've got Naish, Markov & Menadue floating outside our best 22 as depth? Geez I hope our first few draftees are ready to play. A couple of injuries away from being tested.

I'm happy with what the club is doing. It is not about winning VFL flags. We still have good strength in our VFA listed players, who were pretty good all year and many have seasoned bodies strong enough to protect your kids coming through.
We have plenty of tall strong young AFL listed players like Balta, Garth, Miller and CCJ to cover tall depth injuries. A strong ruckman in Soldo and guys like Markov and Menadue are seasoned enough to be leaders at VFL or backup at AFL. We are unlikely to draft skinny outside flankers in this draft, physically an Ely Smith type should be ready to go at VFL level anyway. Always exciting to see kids come in and shows that the club is about continual rebuilding.

Suns just delisted Jarryd Lyons, was ranked equal-third in the AFL for clearances (7.3) and ninth for contested possessions (13.6) according to the AFL website article.

We had a bit to much deadwood on our list.Let's be honest besides Lloyd the rest couldn't step up and play a role.Fresh blood needed were better of for it.

Towner didn't take his game to another level or improve this year way down on goals and marking etc his pressure and tackling was there, but that's not enough.
