No doubt it probably stays as is, just wanted to go with something a little different. I don't think the top really changes much unless the Crows can talk their way into the top 4 picks. I think the Suns simply take the 2 SA kids maybe even reach slightly for Hately at 6 and bring 3 of them up together, in the hope that all 3 being together gets them to stay along with Dew selling them the idea of being part of the group that got things right on the Coast.No disagreement about the Suns current state. This draft however is loaded with top end, generational types in the top 8 from all accounts. I don't see why you'd give up those types for a kid next year that is a long way off.
If I were Carlton I'd jump at the deal.
If I were Suns I'd keep 2,3,6 or arranging a trade with the Crows for 3 in exchange for 8,13. Everyone knows both SA clubs want SA talent, so I'd try and play then against each other.
With 2,6,8,13, knowing SA teams would have 3,5,10 ahead of us (likely to be all SA talent) I'd look to pickup: Lukocious, Smith, Hatley, Clarke.
Addresses their key fwd issue;
2 gun midfielders, one of which is 190+ the modern inside player;
Clarke ton replace Scrimshaw & Kolodjashnij with Hanley & Harbow ageing.
I wouldn't be opposed to them staying with 2,3,6 and taking both King boys 2&3 and then best MID at 6. You'd assume Walsh(1), Smith(4), Rainkine (5).... It'd still be a talent player.
Having said that I still give my idea a little(like 2-3%) chance of happening as the Suns are quite unpredictable in what they do
