Getting Liam Stocker with our first round pick is a dream result.
The best part about that phantom draft, was ohalloran, dursma, and ely smith all available as well, , if it works out that way we , will get a fantastic player
One way or another

Matt Balmer? I think you're thinking of Twoomey.

Yep, Twoomey (Sp?). He ranked our FS very highly. In a strange way compared to everyone else, including the clubs. Matt Balmer is pretty good.

For anyone who has seen McHenry play he has Richmond written all over him.
Bio: McHenry is an exciting small midfielder/forward who cracks in hard in the contest and is willing to tackle hard to win the ball back. Not only is Ned a good football player, but he potentially is the ‘Jack Higgins’ of the 2018 pool — with the Geelong Falcons player being a star media performer in his own right, hosting his own ‘Ned’s Falcons Files’ TV show on the Falcons’ Facebook page. If an AFL career doesn’t word out for Ned, a media career beckons. McHenry was another player who finished the season well for the Falcons.

As per the first post, load up with mids please.

Project 3 years ahead and those heading towards the hills (not to say they won’t be playing, but you need mature coverage ready to go as the drop off can be quick).

Age right now (oldest to younger) : Grigg 30, Houli 30, Edwards 30, Reiwoldt 30, Rance 29, Cotchin 28, Astbury 27, Martin 27 , Grimes 27, Caddy 26, Lambert 26, Prestia 26, Lynch 26.

We addressed the talls in last years draft with Balta, CJ and Miller. We’ve got Garth ready to go as well.

Higgins added another mid, Naish an outside type. Baker a potential mid.

Throw in a couple of more new mids into the mix.

Best available for me at our first.
I wouldnt be against Hill at our 1st as long as all our next picks were big bodied mids.

Correct me if im wrong but if Hill wasnt injured most of the year would he have been a top5 pick?
You just cant say no to guy who would have gone top5. I know we need inside mids but we also lack a top quality wingman who has elite kicking skills and can run like the wind.

He was touted as top 5 last season, but never came on with his performances this season.

Hope that we are not seriously considering another small forward with our first pick.

Included in that group is Gippsland Power's rangy midfielder Xavier Duursma, who now shapes as a top-20 smokey, and small forward/midfielder Ned McHenry, who has been linked to the Tigers, Crows and Melbourne.

The Crows have four selections in the first 21 picks (No.8, 13, 16 and 21) and could also look to bolster their ruck stocks, with GWS academy prospect Kieren Briggs tipped to attract an early bid.

Rivals believe the Giants could look to trade up in the draft from their current position at No.19 to ensure they don't need to use their third top-20 pick to match a bid on the bullocking big man and instead match a bid with later picks.

Clubs see St Kilda's pick No.4 as shaping the top group of selections. Sam Walsh, Jack Lukosius and Izak Rankine are widely tipped to be the first three players picked, because even if Carlton springs a surprise and grabs Lukosius at No.1, Gold Coast would follow by taking Walsh and then likely Rankine at No.2 and 3.

The Saints are considering a group of players for their choice, with key forward Max King and midfielder Bailey Smith seen as the most likely candidates.

Jye Caldwell, Ben King, Connor Rozee and Bailey Smith are in the next group of likely selections, with the Bulldogs in a strong position to take Smith at No.7 should he get past the Saints' choice.

Can't argue when it comes too the Falcons.
Bf phantom draft has us taking Hill then a mid with our 2nd.His reasoning makes abit of sense.Best available with our 1st then a good mid with our 2nd.
McHenry & Hill fit that Bill.

I found McHenry highlights on YouTube and was severely underwhelmed... Which is worrying considering highlights can make anyone look good.

Every year people say this in reference to giantroo's vids, and every year I have to point out that they include every involvement in a single game - they are not highlights packages.

Not saying McHenry is any good (I have no idea), just that it's super harsh to judge a kid based on a single game. Save that level of judgment for the actual full length 3:30min highlights package :p

Jack Bytel if available would be a better pick than Hill/McHenry at our first pick. Having said that in very confident there will still be even better kids available come out first selection.

The draft too me this year seems load with high quality midfielders. They might not all be superstars but I can see lots going on to be Ward, Boak, JPKennedy type successful career players and then done going on to be those Hodge, Goddard key pillars for teams over the next 10 seasons.

A lot of size obsessed posters ‘round here.
At our pick, we pick the best footballer. I’d be more than happy with Ned McHenry.
Top pressure act player. Top tackler. Biggest tank. Played midfield last year as a bottom ager. Looks like the type to move into the middle fairly quickly.
The type of player Tiger fans would love.
I reckon he might be gone before our pick though...

Dusty is top 5 in the comp for centre clearances isn't he?
According to https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_rankings?year=2018&rt=LT&st=CC the number one ranked player for League Total Clearances in season 2018 is Dustin Martin with 76. Trent Cotchin is equal 13th with 48. As for League averages, Dusty is ranked 3rd only .02% behind 2nd.

On the other hand stoppage clearances - different story all together although that probably has more to do with game plan than actual ability! So just to be on the safe side maybe we should look to recruit a specialist stoppages mid  :D
