Well week 1 of the trade period and this has been extremely entertaining:

  • Melbourne fans still very salty about not(?) losing their best forward
  • Vic media furious that we are not doing what they expect us to do
  • Brisbane fans disappointed at us with Neale looking less and less likely and telling us that players won't want to be traded their in future (because Brisbane is the destination of choice for most players)
  • West Coast fans annoyed at a perceived play for Kelly (which is made up anyway but giving the Geelong fans on trade board some ammo to go back at them)
  • and I learnt that "amateur hour" means when you don't negotiate poorly and give the other side exactly want they want:think:
Can't wait for next week

Um. You guys are in a premiership window and yet obviously don't value him - otherwise you wouldn't be open for trading him...
We weren’t, it was Hogan who raised the idea of a trade to Freo at his end of season interview. That your club couldn’t be bothered tabling a serious offer and trading out the pick that would have got a deal done is shizenhouse, it’s ****ing over both Hogan and the MFC. Would strongly believe if he moves west in the future it’ll be to the Eagles after today’s performance.

Kelly is good but definitively not worth offering pick 11 which I think is bs anyway

He was sheltered in the Geelong midfield behind Danger, Selwood, Gaz and Duncan...as someone mentioned, quite similar to Des behind Brissies fab 5

So we've triggered Melbourne, GWS, West Coast, Barrett and half the AFL media in the first boring week of trade period, imagine what the mad campaigner Belly is going to do next week?

I have to be careful here and I'm not sure what the rules are concerning quoting someone off another forum so I won't do it but there's a post from a Melbourne supporter. He/She is vague and doesn't go into detail but states there are Hogan rumours, it's all conjecture like 99% of BF but states his source is a list manager (not Freo's).

Belly was a tough little campaigner when he played and he NEVER blinked. He could have stayed in the media making good money and avoided having to put his (obviously huge) jatz crackers on the line.

He chose to come back to the club and take an active role. I have no concerns that this is about Belly's ego. He'll do whatever he thinks is best for FFC and he won't give two sh1ts if he steps on some toes in the process.

I like that.

Pretty sure at seasons end he told the media he was totally happy at Melb?

You guys wanted 2 picks we didn’t even have, how was that going to work? We can’t trade using speculative picks.

But west coast don’t have the currency
That's not our problem. Kelly chose them so we respected that and gave WC a chance to get the deal done. They seem a way off, so we may have made an offer. Pointless, it seems as Kelly is adamant he will not becoming to Freo under any circumstances, so even if Geelong agree, Kelly won't agree to it. Which is fine, but don't whinge if you are in Geelong and not WA next year, if WC can't meet Geelongs demands and Geelong won't relent.

Can you enlighten us as to what his plan is?

I can't see it...

Could you pm me a link, I'd like to take a look without wading through a week's worth of crap

I'm not on speaking terms with Belly - but I have a sneaking suspicion he knows more about what's going on than the average BF poster. For now I'll back him to get the job done.

If he ***** it up then I expect him to be drawn and quartered at the annual FFC Family Day.

Yeah I read that, it seems to be along the lines of what the main ITK on there has already said.

copy and paste the words into the quote function (the [ quote] [ /quote] tags without spaces). That way the post doesn't link and we can't see who posted it without finding the post ourselves
