Port will 100% keep pushing to move up the order. That's what today's comments trying to spook GC were all about

Mayes to Port Power will be done tomorrow according to Tom Morris.

He also is saying North will give 68 for Aaron Hall, a pick GC will not be using.
I don’t get it

Port last year went all in on players

Start of trade week they were all about jumping up the draft order

Now they’ll trade Wingard for a player they don’t want and doesn’t want them, and trade in another player who is a solid 6 out of 10.

Chad was a great player a few years ago. Really, really good player. Does he still have the motivation to push himself to be the best player he can be. To win premierships. Or will he be happy to just continue to coast on his talent.

We just got rid of Gov for apparently similar reasons to why Wingard is being shown the door. After what happened with Menzel I can see this potentially ending the same way.
This is my concern

I'll be glad to see him go. Got a bad feeling he's the next Mackay. Vanilla player that gets picked every week taking up a spot on the ground that should be reserved for some of our best players..
I've got a slightly higher opinion of him, but I'm quite OK with him going. Just so's we get something of value beyond a spare spot on the field. Any value. The Stengle pick, whatever. I suppose that'll come out in the wash.

Trouble is ... how much longer can we keep doing this when Hamish eventually retires? Does Hamish have a Padawan in training?

Yes! Who develops the developers?

We need a league table of list managers & recruiters, and a separate televised trade week for trading these traders.

Then some of us will forget about actual footy and just follow this as a sport in itself.

Then someone will inevitably ask ... who develops the developer developers? And when can we trade the trader traders?

And then finally, eventually, Wed 7:30 will come, and we’ll figure have still a further month of speculation, and our heads will explode.

That's not true at all... As of this morning, his family said he had no idea what was going on as the pies only seemed keen to keep him on a 50% pay cut.

Doubt it.

They were spooking them into not picking them. They dont really have much else to trade with. If/when they get 15 and Burton for Wingard they'll have almost filled their list again.

I feel like we could potentially be trading Kelly to Collingwood to try and get their 2019 3rd rounder to then give us the option of trading our 2019 1st this year. Otherwise I don't know what Collingwood have because I would be pretty annoyed if we traded a player like Kelly for a pick we wouldn't use.

Rumour is that tomorrow will be a big day. Lots of discussions about players and pick swaps, none actually happening but Trade radio will discuss in detail the following items ad nauseum:
1. Why Freo are a joke and should be after Hogan
2. How Beams wants to go to Collingwood but will also see out his contract with Brisbane
3. Pick 5 will go all around the country and end up at GC
4. Steven May is not worth 5 but wthat will be his price
5. McDonalds have a new brekky burger called the Big-Mac. There's a big wrap on it at the draft but it could slide down and slip through the cracks
