I would have kept McGovern unless Carlton threw in a future 2nd. Wouldn't have had an issue playing him in the SANFL which wouldn't have happened anyway.. Carlton would have rolled over. Reid is too soft. Proved it last year, proved it this year.Look, I may be accused of towing the club line here, but I don't think we could of got a better deal for McGovern. I'm happy with the draft pick's we have and I'm hoping we'll bring in some player's who are really good roll models.
Come at me.
If gc trade with saint kilda for a swap of 4 for 6 this could be a major win for the crows as gc will not go in with 2,3 and 4. They will definitely trade out 1 of those picks, probably pick 4. Powaa will come hard offering 5 and 15 for 4. We need to trump that offer. Would offer 8,13 and a future 2nd.The more I stop and reflect on it, the more I'm in favour of keeping our picks as is. Ultimately I think GC will ask for far too much for their picks and will hope that either us or Port will sell everything to grab a pick. (If they are super smart they could do a deal with one of us for pick 3 - saying they are going to use pick 2, then go to the other club and offer pick 2 hoping that club will feel they have to 'one-up' the other club. They could come away with an incredible haul).
I know many are agitated that Port have jumped ahead of us in the draft, but they have given a lot to get there.
At this stage, to get to the point to have a shot at one of the SA players, Port have given up Polec, Wingard and Pittard.
For us the equivalent players would be;
Polec (their best run and carry player, also from SA) = B Smith
Wingard (their second most talented player, also from SA) = Milera
Pittard (fringe run and carry player) = Mackay
I don't know about you, but as good as Rankine or Rozee may be, I'd be pissed as anything if we traded out Smith and Milera to get that pick.
With Ogilvie's incredible eye for talent, it would be criminal not to let him have at least two picks in the top 20 this year. As good as Lukosious, Rankine or Rozee might be, I have full faith in Ogilvie's picks and would be very confident what we would get from the picks we have will outweigh what we might get from just one of those players.
I'm happy to discuss with GC and happy to offer two picks for one, but nothing more. If it doesn't pan out, fine. I'm more than happy to take the 4 picks and let Ogilvie go crazy. If Port want to kill their list over one player so they can 'win' the offseason, well good luck to them.

NO. We don't need to trump that offer. That's the whole point. Let Port kill themselves. They can gloat about 'winning' the trade wars again for 6 months - until they have to actually play with the team they have left.If gc trade with saint kilda for a swap of 4 for 6 this could be a major win for the crows as gc will not go in with 2,3 and 4. We have no skill or diplomacy. We’ve just got a son of who’s last performance was exposed as tampering.I would have kept McGovern unless Carlton threw in a future 2nd. This is not strictly correct. yes they used the pick 11 gained from trading polec to get them up to where they are but it easily could have been pick 10 which they got by ladder position in that deal. They could have retained polec and wingard (assuming they really wanted to keep them), still traded to pick 5 and brought in Lycett and would have gone to the draft with Pick 5 and some very late picks. This still gets them one of the SA boys and they would only be stronger. The more I stop and reflect on it, the more I'm in favour of keeping our picks as is. Ultimately I think GC will ask for far too much for their picks and will hope that either us or Port will sell everything to grab a pick. Milera reminds me of Shaun Burgoyne. Will end up just as good if he continues down the path he is heading. Like the aggression he is now showing. Looks more comfortable out there and is gaining in confidence each game. Will finish top 5 b & f next year if injury freeI would add that Milera is starting to look like a really classy player. Who is to say that he does not go on to become one of our real A grade players and has just as much impact as Charlie Curnow. I really am starting to like what I see with Milera
I want one of luko, rankine or rozee. Will sell the farm for one of them. Hell we well and truly sold the farm for a 28 year old price Gibbs which i didn't agree with at all. All 3 SA boys will be stars. Time to take some risks worth taking. We have no skill or diplomacy. We’ve just got a son of who’s last performance was exposed as tampering.
We are arse to go to from it and ridiculous as it is we perpetuate it.
He said elite, and none of those players are elite
As I said that wasn’t my point what he’s on, it’s what he could have been on.
All the admin will save their corporate arses mate. Rinse and repeat.I want one of luko, rankine or rozee. Will sell the farm for one of them. Hell we well and truly sold the farm for a 28 year old price Gibbs which i didn't agree with at all. All 3 SA boys will be stars. Time to take some risks worth taking.
I have no idea what you just posted.

Come at me.
We are going to sit Nik.
Our best method is talent pool.
Might doesn’t have a flourishing expectation nikHamish might still do a calculated call on draft night to weaken one of our opponents.
This is how I thought they would implement FA. Their current system is a cop out.Was thinking about this ... how can they return some balance?
What if
Problems?
- Players are locked to their first club for the first 4 years.
- Any movement in the first 4 years of a player being in the AFL system - all the power is in the clubs hands. Club can sell the contract to another club.
- After 4 years in the AFL system it's free agency for value based on current compensation formula for equivalent draft points OR trade. So using Tom Lynch (Suns) as an example. He was seen as Pick 3 value in the compensation - so Richmond would need to produce 2234 points to pay for him OR trade with the Suns.
- Introduce a loyalty bonus $ based on the number of consecutive years at the same club (comes in 5th year) - outside of the cap.
Curnow plays on instinctI would add that Milera is starting to look like a really classy player. Who is to say that he does not go on to become one of our real A grade players and has just as much impact as Charlie Curnow. I really am starting to like what I see with Milera
He's a human random word generator. Not a problem. I can't understand half of Red mist's posts either and I'm fairly sure he's posting in english.
Id like it if u directed it straight up.
It is interesting that 12 months ago this board was pretty vocal about Milera being a squib and not good enough. Third pre-season, fitness up, confidence up, game slowed down for him and you get a pretty bloody good player with even more scope for improvement.I would add that Milera is starting to look like a really classy player. Who is to say that he does not go on to become one of our real A grade players and has just as much impact as Charlie Curnow. I really am starting to like what I see with Milera
Lol you have got to be joking ?? No club in their right mind was paying a top 5 pick for Gov, he isnt worth it.Justin Reid being list manager is a fail. Totally wrong.
Wtf did we do this?
You haven’t answered the Justin Reid thing. What you think?Lol you have got to be joking ?? No club in their right mind was paying a top 5 pick for Gov, he isnt worth it.
This is the real world, not the playstation world. The entire footy world said he was worth anywhere between 10-20.... and they were proven right.
You won't even notice hes gone.
Pass so far. Got well overs for Lever and Cameron, paid overs for Gibbs although not huge overs. You haven’t answered the Justin Reid thing. What you think?
