Despite the romanticism, I wouldn't go after Chad at the asking price he's at. We'd probably end up in the same situation as Port with a player not fulfilling his talent, just because he's in the same situation.

The worst part is he'll do a Shaun Burgoyne if he goes to the Hawks.

Because if you are aiming for instant improvement, you've already ****** up by taking a first rounder to the draft.

We'd be targeting Luko as we believe he will be the better player in the long run.

I want Rankine because I feel like all the great sides have a player on their list that simply defy's logic, and say what you want about him, watching him play, some of the things he does on the field simply defy logic! Players like that brings the crowd into the game when they are within 20m of the ball cause they know they may see something they've never seen before. Eddie's been that man for us but we might be lucky to get 1 more good year out of Eddie. And after him, who brings that X factor to our side?

To me i've not seen a draftee come along with that kind of talent for years. Especially one who is a die hard Crows fan, whose favourite player would be his mentor, and doesn't want to leave SA.

We got everything we wanted for McGovern.

They are expecting much more than he is worth in this trade. They should not have burnt all their bridges with him.

Well I think that's is why now is the time to strike. Port are now aware of what he's worth . And what he's worth is at an all time low. If we swoop in and offer a no f ing around straight up fair trade and get it done we win.

Just keep it simple. Is he worth pick 8 or 13? Or pick 8 and 13, or Kelly on his own? What would Port accept out of those? Obviously we don't want to give 8 and 13 if we don't have to. Maybe 26 and Kelly?

We could get it done and offer whatever hawks pay for him. And I would rather see him in crows colours than hawthorn colours.

The good news is though, I would imagine after the Port list managers public jibe yesterday I daresay we are on better speaking terms then them. And if there is a deal to be done, I would imagine they would prefer to do it with us.

I don’t know. She does make a mean brew... pick 23 would have to be coming back our way too.

I’d love to get Wingard. Along with Gray, he’s the only Power player I’m ever really concerned about come Showdown time. It’s obviously not going to happen, but it would be incredible if it did.

Nice cherry picking. Leaving out the mentions I have made of finding out what Port want, whether pick 13 would get it done, or pick 8 or pick 8 and 13 or Kelly on his own or Kelly and a pick in the 20s. But stick to your script. It sounds better.
