Difference is I think Kohli cracks under pressure, he's great under pressure within an isolated match, but add the greater pressure of a big series or tournament and his output is nowhere near as good, whereas Smith scored back to back tons in the first game of a series Aus hasn't won since 01.

Not taking anything away from Kohli though, he's the GOAT of ODI's.

The funkiest declarations I've seen from a captain is from Michael Clarke. I think he declared once in India (Chennai?) with Australia trailing the first innings score and did it again in the UAE. Coolest declaration after Bedi's because 5 of his players were in the hospital.
