Just spitballing but if Kemp or Serong were sliding past 10, how willing would we be to take a gamble on next year's improvement and trading our 2020 first to get back in to this year? It would basically be an Adelaide/Carlton trade. Eg Our Pick 25 + 2020 first for Port Adelaide's pick 12 + their 2020 2nd round.

Rather trade our second next year with our second this year to get a late first. Leave our 2020 first as a potential live selection

Really hope not! We better take pick 5/6 to the draft and take the selection

I really think we would be better off trading down, as Robertson/Kemp and C.Stephens would be a lot better for us than just Flanders. If Flanders is better than Robertson it is marginal, and he definitely is not better than Robertson/Kemp and C.Stephens.

There’s an old saying- quality is better than quantity. For way too long we have been stockpiling “toilers”. Time to get some top talent, at pick 5 it gives us options.

We can't actually trade our 2020 1st Round Pick as things stand without trading back into the 4th Round of next years draft first. So while it should be fairly easy to do, that has to be taken into account as well as that effects our points tally for our academy pick next year and any deficit we are willing to take on in 2021 as a result.

Damm...
.if Flanders and Jackson go inside top 10, than 2 picks in the 11-20 Range is worth Counter investment....neither should be there but one has the potential and the other would be well overrated...imo

I think we'll need our 2nd next year for points. I agree that we need to use our 2020 first to get a first rounder rather than use for points but why can't it be for a first rounder this year especially one that is ranked in the top 5 for ability but is sliding to 10-15?

I also do like the idea of trading up to 19/20 this year. It's greedy but If we can somehow get two first rounders this year + two first rounders next year in Gulden & Campbell then we would've done well.

Yes, but is Flanders any better than Robertson? If he is it is only very minor. We could get 2 players who are almost as good as Flanders, potentially better in fact as having pick 12 and 16 means we could take a risk by drafting Kemp, which is not something I would be comfortable doing using pick 5.

Good luck to them but not many will make an AFL list. Didn't realise we had actually delisted Maibaum. What's happened to Wicks? See his name is not there.

I didn't realise either. I hope we redraft him onto the rookie list as he was showing a lot of potential before doing his knee. I am sure if he did not do his ACL he would have played quite a few games this year.

Perhaps he improves his chances of getting a main list spot by nominating. This nomination also gets him into the rookie draft. Whatever, good luck to him.

Was interesting when Beatson was asked why we weren’t interested in Green. “We are interested in a different sort of Mid.”

Not exactly sure what that means for our pick 5 and who may fit that different profile.

I took that to be Beatson giving a big F.U. to their Vic media driven and accepted narrative, where they agree with each other enough on what the Swans are doing so in their minds and reporting it becomes the truth. Then they’re always shocked when we do our own thing

I’ve got him a bit in front yes. Prefer to take him or Kemp if we don’t. Trust my judgement.
