I agree, I just think his toughness is overrated.

Prior to getting injured against North, he was probably our second or third best midfielder. He was also getting better each year, and took a big leap this year.

A pick in the 8-12 range would be a fair trade. I doubt we will get anything like that though unfortunately.

LOL we wont get anywhere nearrrrrrrrrr that Saints have 5,55,68,77 we are going to get shafted by a 18ft lead pole if Jones nominates Saints only.

I'd prefer to wait until next year. That way we get him for free and still piss them off. In addition it screws up their cap for 2020.

then anyone grabs him, price for his contract could be higher

waiting is a mugs game

we won't get him for free. Unless Essendon are awful (which is possible), they would probably match the deal.

Next year we are probably going to need all the picks we can must in order to match academy bids.

Im on the fence about Daniher. I don't know of any positive precedent about 200cm forwards and their longevity in the game, but if you wanted to get him then this year would probably be as good as any.

Still remember Daniher being hailed by Essendon fans as the next great one for them... maybe living in a state where he isnt talked about every other week will help him. Get a fresh start.

The thing that amuses me is we are talking about the bloke as if this trade is a given. We have seen plenty of speculation before across the AFL over every off season which amounts to nothing. Luke Parker to Essendon for example ? If Indeed there is any negotiations entered into you can bet thats where that Wombat Dedoro will start. For me As much I don't mind the Idea of getting Joe I am not really convinced the speculation is accurate.

I wonder given how different Rohan seems to have played since moving, if we wouldn't see 2017 Daniher anyway with how poor our midfield delivery still is
Statistically Rohan has played worse this season than every season from 2014-2017, and only marginally better than he did in 2018

Rohan looks like the exact same player he was in Sydney.

Looks good sometimes, completely absent other times.

Oh, and the finals start this weekend ...

Thanks for that :) I haven't watched many games this year let alone Geelong's so only had a quick look at stats and just assumed our kicking is still awful

This nominating a club buggery is a joke. Nominate a state at most.

We always get boned in these trades.

Agreed. As I said send where it suits us. You want out You go where we say. AFL Need to make it harder for players rorting the system. I wouldn't swap Sydney for Melbourne as far as living goes myself but FFS for a Professional Sportsman the lifestyle, weather and football club that is Sydney is second to none. What the **** do these young blokes want ??????

jones + future 3rd - saints future 1st

I like the odds of saints being s**t next year

id be amazed if we got a 1st round pick from the saints for jones. even in a combination of something else going back. I think it will probably be a future second and a future 4th, with us giving something like 57 back to them for this year.

I’d be happy to draw a line, not trade him and let him chance GC, Melbourne, Carlton etc leaving him for the Aints rather than get shafted

That's exactly when he should have been given a good clip which may have directed him down a different path to that of being an arseh*le.

100% agreed.

Let's just say the school incident involved racism and slapping a female.

Wouldn't want him near the club (I am aware there are likely multiple characters on our list like this already).

I should also add that I have no issue with players looking for opportunity but "want to go home" but only to one club in a state where there are 10, does us no favours when that club has nothing valuable to give us. Mitchell to Hawks, Jolly to Pies & now Jones to Saints for what, pick 5? No way, their next is 55.
Piss off Jones.

Well I'm tired of those sh . t days when couldn't keep any one mate but I guess it's not as bad as it was in those dark days but still, WTF is it with some of these players.

They want to move around like its the nba but dont give up their control over trades

should be able to trade players anywhere we want unless they have a no trade clause
