People blaming Kirk for our midfield issues, George Hewetts season review has Dean Cox talking about him as midfield coach, actually states this. So what's Kirks role?

I was under the impression that Kirk was the midfield coach and Cox was the stoppages coach.
Not according to swans tv, go have a look.

I don't see where Cox is referred to as the "midfield coach". The label he is given is "Assistant Coach", which he is, he is the Assistant Coach responsible for stoppages, who is probably a reasonable person to comment on someone who has basically played as an inside midfielder all year.

We could have Fyfe and Oliver but without a ruckman they'd be chasing guys just like Parker and Hewett are IMO.
Papley kicks goals and does heaps of other stuff too. We couldn't replace that with anyone else on our list (or available) IMO.

So it’s the ruckman’s fault that Parker and Hewett are headless chooks with ball in hand.

Best case scenario for swans is to keep both jones and Papley if possible. Not start the rebuild again or fill up a medical bed with joe. Convince both boys to stay and it will be a great off season
We should be able to go to the draft to fill some holes but it will slow down our rebuild. I feel like another key defender is the most pressing one as they often take the longest to develop

Second paragraph, "So says Sydney Swans midfield coach Dean Cox about unheralded on-baller George Hewett after another superb campaign."

I'd say the most likely answer is that whoever wrote that article got his job title wrong.

At least half. Not saying they are elite ball users, but they rarely if ever get a hit out to advantage to use it - and yes they don't have the break away speed, or speed of thought, or instinct needed to get it out of tight contests as much as we'd like. Give us Grundy though and we turn into a top 4 chance IMHO.
Turn Jones, Naismith and our pick 4 into Grundy and make him the highest paid player in the comp please.:p
(Also if any time travellers have the powerball numbers for tomorrow please contact).

It's the ruckman's fault they rarely have the opportunity.

They have plenty of opportunities, they just do nothing productive with them. Hewett I’m more lenient on because he’s a lot younger and also being asked to perform other roles, but in the second half of this year even he started exhibiting symptoms headless chook syndrome, most likely influenced by his two mentors in the midfield.

I’m just not as convinced. Even with time and space our inside mids have just shown a tendency to see ball, kick ball. They don’t show an ounce of method or strategy at all with ball in hand, and giving them a ruck who will only give them more opportunities to hack kick and dish out hospital handpasses just won’t help much. Our engine-room needs a total re-wiring and nobody seems to want to say it because it involves two beloved club champions.

My understanding is that it’s the same as the Levi Casboult situation.

The player may have triggered some clauses for an automatic contract extension, but he still needs to agree to the new deal.

Casboult automatically triggered a contract extension this year, but hasn’t accepted this new deal and will invoke his free agency status.
"
A possible complication is that Papley recently triggered a clause in his contract that ties him to the Swans until the end of 2023."

So your understanding is just something you understood to suit your BS argument?

The Crims may end up offering Pick 8 and Dow .. not really good enough. Dow looks a 2nd string mid or depth.
Is Dow the one that runs fast then just kicks in a random direction?
