So right now she’s just the girlfriend in another city ... but if he moves in with her down there, boom they’re de facto and half that mega salary is now hers ...even if they break up in a year or two. 23 year old plumbers come footballers aren’t always across the finer details of family law ...hope someone explains this to him before he throws his legacy away

You are such a romantic

Yes exactly where I was going with this. Sam Murray looked very good as a distributing half back

My memory of him is Pies supporters lamenting his poor kicking.

A half back that goes at 70.5% for disposal with 65.2% for kicking isn’t great.

For comparison this season:
Lloyd 82.1% 75.4%
Mills 80.2% 77.9%
Rampe 86.4% 83.0%
Aliir 74.9% 67.1% (but played up the ground a fair bit in H2)
Dawson 74.7% 72.3% (plays up the ground a bit)

COR with work to do 76.3% 61.6%

He did seem a line breaker at the pies though which our team seems to be missing. Doubt we would even look at him but without the troubles he may have been a good fit but he left and that’s about the end of it.

All the shit / opinions journos go on about / have during trade period is horrible.
Im now hoping we trade in a couple of good players with potential to be better using our 4 x 3rd & 4th round picks
Pick up Bennel for free
Keep Paps and Jones
Any other trades (Cameron), trade for future picks
Go to the draft with our 1st 2 picks
And use the Rookie draft to fill remainder of spots
2020 is another rebuild and we go to the 2020 trade period and get a fit Daniher as a free agent

Sliding Doors..
If.. Journos were held accountable for stating their opinions and assumptions as fact
Then.. Barrett would be very nervous

Getting more relieved as the days go on we will take our first pick to the draft and actually get a mid rather than a broken forward.

Give him $100k and give him a year off in Melbourne. Not to be traded in any circumstances.

Pay him $100k more and take a year off?
Great message that sends to the team

Give him a year at off without pay and let him go back to unclogging toilets and see if she’s still keen for him to be back in Victoria

I’m sure she’ll appreciate apprentice plumber wages

I think that’s enough boys.
Papley is an adult, in the end it’s his decision. He owns it. No one else.

and I hate the idea of people berating Papley for wanting to make his girlfriend happy. This is not the 1950's people, a man should not be laughed at or have it implied he is less of a man because he makes a decision designed to make his girlfriend/wife happy. It is what functioning adults are able to do.

Papley wants to leave, I don't want to lose him as he is one of our best players but he wants to go. Do we really want to force him to stay? I think it would be best for all concerned to trade him and get the best possible deal we can get for him.

Im liking the fact that the swans are playing their cards close to their chest this trade period.. who knows who they're targeting?

Talk on Sier has gone quiet. He never re-signed!
Nothing coming from the swans on Jones
The only thing on Paps that's been reported out of the Swans is that we don't want him to go
Lewis Taylor or Riley Knight aren't gonna break the bank
Its seeming more likely that if we're interested in Daniher, its an interest next year as a free agent.

Theres more at play here.. I've faith in our list management and our plan / strategy into the future

Yep, great message it sends to the rest of team and his mates.

The message screams, I am out of here the first chance I get otherwise this club is going to do me over..............

Not to mention the message it sends to potential draftees and recruits.

COR is perhaps the most like for like given murray's run and dash. Murray is more aggressive and will take off at every opportunity so his efficiency maybe more impacted but perhaps something that can be worked with. Can't see swans taking him which is ashame. Would have been a nice feel good story.

James Rose and Durak Tucker gone.

Article from Swans App;

Following the retirements of Jarrad McVeigh, Kieren Jack, Heath Grundy and Nick Smith, the Sydney Swans have made a further two changes to their playing list.

Forward James Rose and rookie Durak Tucker have been informed they have not been offered contracts for season 2020.

Rose joined the Swans via pick 37 at the 2014 AFL Draft from South Australian club Sturt.

He played 14 games in red and white over five seasons, kicking seven goals.

Sydney recruited Tucker at last year’s Rookie Draft from Western Australia.

The 19-year-old had a number of injury setbacks on his comeback from an ACL injury and didn’t feature at senior level.

Swans Head of Football Charlie Gardiner thanked the pair for their service.

“We’d like to thank both James and Durak for their contributions to the Swans,” Gardiner said.

“James was a great character to have around the club and showed great perseverance during his time in Sydney.

“Durak has been a popular and hard-working member of our group but due to a number of injury setbacks was unable get his body ready for the rigours of AFL football.

“We wish both James and Durak all the best for their future endeavours.”

RELATED NEWS

It was time for Rose. He had plenty of time to cement his spot and never could. He just lacked composure at the top level and that is a signal of nerves. I hope he has a good career elsewhere.

Durak never got on the park after an ACL recon. Obviously the scenario is not good for the young guy.
