I don't personally rate him, but he's coached more Premierships than 12 other coaches in the competition. Also clear that the playing group loves him.

What could the club have possibly done to avoid having Papley leaving? Sabotage his relationship?

There are literally 2, maybe 3, number 5 picks this decade that you wouldn't run the risk of trading for Daniher simply due to the potentially massive upside. This year is a really shallow draft. Next year we are guaranteed to sign 2 young guns. This is the perfect time (if there isn't ever a perfect time) to pick-up a generational key forward talent.

I don’t doubt the talent of Daniher and he’s a star but I’m just very concerned about our midfield. We need an influx of talent in there. Having said that we can’t rule out the club doesn’t have big plans to improve that area.
Happy to sit back and watch it unfold. At the very least this is exciting to be balls deep in trade period again.

That’s what I’m thinking. Not sure what Papley is worth. I’m probably bias in saying joe is worth more but injury concerns lower his value. Straight swap might be fair all round.

- Sydney will give up two first round picks for Daniher
- Sydney will not accept pick 9 for Papley
- Sydney will get pick 9 for Papley and send back pick 25

He's said just about every possibility so of course he's bound to get it "right".

We let Mitchell go for unders, but with Hawthorn also going for O'Meara, they were flatly not giving us anything more. It was either that or he went to the draft and we got nothing. We turned him into Florent who wants to be a one club player, so we arguably made the best of a bad situation.

Listening to the way the players talk about Horse, it's pretty hard to believe that they don't admire him. He even got a run on Buddy Instagram page. That's prestigious stuff right there.

Jones hasn't left yet, and it's not like he has a bad relationship with the club.

Did you really just call Thurlow and Clarke list cloggers while bemoaning the club for not doing more to retain Darcy Cameron? Strife, some people just look for reasons to complain about the club.

Absolutely agree Paps deserves more respect .. but
I dont understand why he's nominated a single club?
Respect goes both ways, The Swans have been great for Paps so imo, Paps should be open to being traded to the Melbourne club which offers the Swans the best deal.

Because more than likely the Swans have asked him first as to which club they would like for us to deal with?

Also, not once has Papley or the club said that he wants Carlton only?

Sam Edmund has said in his second tweet (to make amends for the first that was down right disgusting) that he is happy to go anywhere in Victoria.

Pickering said this morning he was doing a medical. When questioned who with he said Sydney. Hutchinson asked for clarification that he was currently having a medical for Sydney. Pickering's response was he had no idea but he will have / will be as due process. This was around 11.30 this morning for memory.
