Are you that guy with the feather in his Carlton beanie that I sat next to?

Guarantee you my crazy mob are crazier than yours. ;)
ha ha. No beanie when I was up there. I did notice a crazy mob of Carlton fans when we leaving the ground. Probably your mob. Crazy ****ers.

I understand where the poster is coming from with the Cunners for Papley trade. On exposed form Cunners has had maybe 3 good games. And his injury history doesn't fill one with positivity. However, I would not do the deal.

Cuningham for Papley has been discussed previously on here. I was against the idea then and I'm against the idea now.

I am very keen on Papley but given where we're at there are more appropriate ways to look at bringing him into the side than giving up a young kid with serious promise.

And if we're being honest there's probably no way Sydney accept that offer anyway. As optimistic as we are about Cuningham's prospects he's done little at senior level, he's very injury prone, and ultimately he may not make it.

Very happy to give them Adelaide's pick.

If Grundy goes to Crows, give the Crows back their pick for Reilly O'Brien.

A top 20 pick for Reilly O'Brien?

That'd be an awful result for us - not to mention a very unlikely one given he just signed a 2 year extension.

Awful? Surely you're taking the piss?

He's looking like a top class ruckman in the making and is still young.

The minute Kruezer inevitably goes down we're left with a couple of spuds to replace him.

Rather spend that pick on a player in that position than a bog standard player like Papley.

They've just extended his contract, I think he's moved ahead of Jacobs now.

No doubt he has, But if they get Grundy in i'm not sure he'd be wanting to stay there to play second fiddle to him.

All depends on where Grundy goes. The fact he only signed for two years might suggest they are hedging their bets in regards to that situation.

No, I'm not taking the piss.

Trading the Crows back their first pick for O'Brien would be an awful trade for Carlton.

Actually, we're left with two veterans and a young developing kid. Head off to Facebook if you want to call them spuds.

Our ruck situation certainly isn't ideal and it is something we should address at the end of the year.

Spending big on O'Brien most certainly isn't the answer. Would much rather spend less on a player who can act as a bridge between Kreuzer and TKD, if we see the latter as capable of taking over as #1 ruck a few years down the track.

It's probably a moot point anyway given they've just re-signed him. Doubt they're doing that if they feel they're a genuine chance of bringing in Grundy.

He's one of the best small forwards in the game.

Not sure they pay up in trade and contract terms for Grundy when they've got, as you put it, "a top class ruckman in the making and is still young."

Gut feel is that Grundy stays on at Collingwood, his manager is just milking this next big contract.

Lobbe will almost certainly be delisted at the end of this year, Phillips won't be far behind him either. Kreuzer is too unreliable fitness wise and he routinely gets beaten by the better ruckmen in the league. TDK is a very raw prospect, and the good signs he has shown have been as a forward. He is still a long shot to make it as a ruckman.

It is as big a hole on our list as we have.

Absolutely. I did say the ruck situation needs to be addressed.

If it were up to me I'm delisting both Lobbe and Phillips and bringing in a mature backup for Kreuzer whilst TKD continues to develop. Just about every year we see these types exchanged relatively cheaply.

I'm certainly not paying big (both financially or on the trade table) for Reilly O'Brien. That'd be pure madness.

We need small crumbing forwards, Papley is more of a part time forward/midfielder now. In fact we have a Papley like player in Gibbons already.

I don't think he's going to want to come here and be left in the forward line for the majority of the game.

We desperately need small forwards who have a bit of x factor and can play a whole game crumbing the opportunities our tall forwards provide.

I totally agree that Sydney would not do a straight trade but provided the sweetener didn't hurt too much I would still do that swap.

I find your reluctance a bit odd given your bolded statement.

I would like to hold a low pick if possible, just think we should be considering all options before handing that pick over for anyone.
