No issud with Menegola or Robertson if they're cheap.
2 different types of players IMO
Both tallish & big-bodied mids, but Menegola seems to hunt the ball, while Robertson can play a run-with or blocking role.
It depends what we need for team balance & of course what they each cost in terms of picks

I definitely do not want you managing our list

Ok mate.

Do you realise that next years draft has 17 NGA, Academy and father son players?

The quality of the draft will be the worst in years.

Suns already have a mid first round pick.

Say the Demons are mid range on the ladder and the pick is late 20’s it will be pushed out into the 30’s.

Demons second pick will be worth very little.

It’s because there has been no formal announcement. Certainly Peter Bell on trade Radio covered off Ed Langdon and his value to the club...4th in2018 B&F, expect another top 5 finish for 2019, quality individual and character. If and when we are informed he wants out we would expect fair compo...

Future 2020 2nd will be as much of a ream (bend over) as it will go. Didn’t we do that same trade for Nathan Wilson.

I’d expect we would demand something for 2019 draft.
Each draft is very different in quality and structure.

It’s very possible that up to 10 NGA, Academy and Father son players will be selected before the Demons second round pick.

Plus, the quality of the draft is the worst in years.

Unless B Walker and Western are first rounders, the second round pick is useless.

Pick 7 + Blakely
This would be a massive win for us. I know people might think Blakely has a massive ceiling, he is a year and a bit younger than Kelly but Tim is a superior player.

We also mitigate the cost of Tim Kelly's contract because three years of Blakely's becomes Tim's money.

If it means we keep Langdon then we aren't totally wrecked for outside run.

Certainly would not be adverse to making a play for McIntosh. Useful on the wing and across half back.
If we could get it done for a lower pick, then awesome :) Premiership player. Peel boy. Ticks the boxes...

Only need one of McIntosh or Robertson which will add more grunt, likewise with Acres or Wood for an extra midfielder.

SPP is hard at it and handy..but his off field behaviour won’t help us mas we embark on the new era.

I personally think menagola doesn’t have much left in the tank for some reason. He’s slowing down and disposal isn’t too flash. Conca would be ahead of him imo.

If Kelly nominates a WA club we go all guns blazing. If he chooses WCE we let it go.

Both Fyfe, Walters were our two best players this year, BHill probably third, these guys always put in. Will be
interesting to see who blossoms under JLo, as this is where the lift will come from.
Get Fyfe, Walters forward more and we instantly look more dangerous. Dont know why some posters are down,
could be the most interesting off season in a long time😀

even better would be 7 + Brayshaw for Kelly IMO :)

Brayshaw is 19 y.o. and already has 40 odd games under his belt. He got a brownlow vote this year in a loss. I wouldn’t give away his next 10-12 years for Tim Kelly’s 5-6 years. That would be a net loss.

Here’s one for you...I predict Brayshaw will get more Brownlow votes for the remainder of his career than Tim Kelly does from this point forward.

I would really like us to pry Pick 6 and Acres from the Saints for B.Hill. I believe Acres at 23 is going to go boom after having played in a dysfunctional side for the last 4-5 years...

Throwing something out of left-field here:

  • Brad Hill to St Kilda for pick 6
  • Ed Langdon and future 2nd to Melbourne for future 1st
  • Freo and Melbourne future 1sts and Freo future 3rd to Geelong for Tim Kelly and pick 54
  • Pick 7 to GWS for picks 12 and 18 (although our pick may not be good enough for what they want to do with Green)

Out: Brad Hill, Ed Langdon, pick 7, future 1st, future 2nd, future 3rd
In: Tim Kelly, pick 6, pick 12, pick 18, pick 54

Admittedly it goes against my disdain for paying more for Kelly than get for Hill, but gives us picks 6, 12, 18, 26, 54 and 80 in a draft stacked with championship-winning WA talent, Liam Henry among which. Essentially trades us out of next year's draft, but with the ability to parlay that for a year by matching for our numerous academy kids, some of whom appear like they may feature in the first couple of rounds. Doing so would put us into a big deficit for the 2021 draft - however, Fyfe turns 32 in the following season, so it's unlikely anyone we select in this draft will feature in a premiership where Fyfe is at the peak of his powers.

So if we want to win a premiership in the Era of Nat, this maximises our ability to do so by keeping a strong hand in this year's draft, while pushing the trade cost for Kelly out by, potentially, two years.
If you trade a future 1st you can't trade any other future picks. You can trade a future 1st OR future 2nd + 3rd etc.

Langdon is going to the Dees.
To Fremantle, Tim Kelly is worth two round 1 picks (6&7 B Hill) and the club should be chasing him aggressively. Not sure I would describe Blakely as having a massive ceiling, a good player who should improve with an injury free full pre season.

We shouldn’t even be worrying about kelly. The first thing we need to do is worry about getting something decent for brad hill. If kelly is worth 2 first round picks so is hill. Brad hill is a contracted player and the saints have thrown down a possible 900k a year contract offer. He should be worth two picks in the first round and even two in the top 10 if going by his contract otherwise screw the saints keep him.

We need to offer 4 years to get him across.

His injury history isn’t great.

50/50 to me.
4 years, bugger. A liability isn't really free, you still need to pay for it.

Our medico's probably not up for the challenge. I get the feeling that their KPI's last year were based around getting Fyfe and Walters playing 90% of the games, hence why the rest of our list fell apart when the sticky tape came off.

So Hagdorn saying this morning that Kelly to the Eagles for their first pick this year, and next years first pick as well. So that would satisfy the first two rounders that Geelong are seeking for him.

I hope we don't try and better that deal.

Firstly, Hagdorn... sooo... you know...

Secondly, that's what? pick 14 and pick roughly 14 again? Think Geelong will ask for more.

If Geelong land 14 and currently have 16 I wonder if they'd swap 14 and 16 for 7 and change?

Assuming we have picks 6 and 7, who's up for a split?

Would we rather 6, 7, 22(assuming we get this for Langdon), 26

OR

7, 16 + 21(assuming we split 6 with Brisbane), 22 and 26

Henry plays a part in this.
