Menegola is also an unrestricted free agent next season. He appears to be quite replaceable in the current Geelong side too.

His value is probably never going to be higher and with Steven to come in and Constable needing a bit of love it makes perfect sense for the Cats to try and offload him now. Hopefully we're not the willing patsy for their schemes

3 year deal.

Another colyer.

We're just not a good fit. He needs to be somewhere (like Brisbane) where he's already surrounded by talent and can focus on being more of a stopper than a ball winner or play maker. Honestly I think WC should be looking at him as a possible Hutchings replacement.

I want Robertson just so we don't get hammered when two of our inside mids get injured.

Until this year he played every game for Brisbane.

All depends on cost for me.
Fyfe, Brayshaw, Cerra, Blakely all play as an inside mid plus Mundy if needed.

I would love us to get target outside mids this year, and if we need more depth next year then we can target one more.

Speed and skills please.

Who is depth? He isn’t just a tagger.

We’re talking about a guy who’ll most likely cost a draft pick we don’t plan on using.

I’m quite happy to use our three top 20 picks (I’m including Henry btw) on speed and skill. In the real world not many players have that combination later on though.

Have to agree with this to a point, Tigers have plenty of inside/outside run and continually get the ball moving
forward.
They have plenty of good footballers, but the team isn't stacked with AA's.
Add Valente and Cerra to the midfield, pace becomes an issue, and losing Hill, Langdon?

I don't buy there is no talent late.

And I don't think he is best 22.

Conca, Banfield, Hughes. We also had a pretty decent one who we just cut in Nyhuis. Another negating HB/mid with poor skills isn't really a need for us is it?
I already said that. I'm not an advocate for getting Robertson. I'm just suggesting that Conca,Banfield,Hughes are not as good as Robertson is at shutting down an opposition midfielder.

A very 'meh' announcement. We should be looking to bring in guys with good foot skills, don't want to end up being a haven for all/any mediocre WA players who want home

100% !! I've said this so often - just because they're from WA and want to come back to WA, we have no obligation AT ALL to find them a home on our list. I mean seriously - Colyer for 3 years?? WTF was that all about? At best a C grader - who we paid a 4th rounder for - worth a 3-year deal just because he's from WA?? At least bring in guys who are going to add something, not spend 3 years on AFL level coin running around at Peel.

Other than the list below does anyone know anyone else we have been linked to:
  • Tim Kelly (in competition with WC - if he wants to come we should make it happen imo)
  • Mason Wood (if we need an experienced winger might be an option but worth the cost?)
  • Billy Frampton (likely to go to Adelaide, decent ruck/fwd backup)
  • Blake Acres (would like but not if we don't get pick 6 as well - Hill + future picks for 6 + Acres perhaps?)
  • Kamdyn McIntosh (don't mind this if it is cheap - Richmond salary cap relief?)
  • Nick Robertson (should cost nothing so can see why we'd look at it but please not 3 years)
  • Sam Powell-Pepper (on field would be ok, off field is he worth the risk though?)
  • Sam Menegola (makes no sense at all)

Nope, and its pretty bleak viewing

Frampton, Acres, McIntosh, Robertson, SPP, Menegola would make an awesome Peel midfield.

In all seriousness, I don't mind us having a less productive trade period if it means we walk away with some top end draft picks. BHill, McCarthy, Matera, Bennell, Wilson, Hamling, Colyer, Conca, Hogan, Lobb is a pretty good run over three (four?) years, even if they didn't all turn out how we'd like.

Be happy to grab McIntosh, Robertson is interesting. He’s actually not that bad.
Acres could explode for us. He hasn’t really done much over at St Kilda.
Mason Wood, for me, is underrated. If he stays fit he can deliver the ball better then Langdon tbh. Plays that Tabs role. We need depth up forward.
Mengelola is done tbh. Banfield is his type.
Sam would be laughing coming back to us on a pay packet.

Does anyone really expect us to get Kelly? His first preference is west coast. I’m not keen to try and over convince this guy we’re the club to be at. Great talent aside. He could come here, take the contract and do a 360. He worked bloody hard this season, because a) to try and win a premiership for Geelong. Didn’t happen then b) overinflated his worth and get the contract for himself and family. Good on him for doing that. But we’re a rebuilding team, new coach and CEO. What exactly would he bring with that mindset?

YOO HOO No need to worry about trading any in (except maybe Kelly). Imagine how good we are gonna be ....with our current list improved kicking and handball....marking....taking possession...only have to improve 10% and we most likely will be in the top six.
