Losing their final three games of the season was reflective of the Crows' standing, and officials are now belatedly prepared to acknowledge what the entire AFL industry has known since early 2018 – there are massive morale issues.

Director Mark Ricciuto, in his role on Triple M radio, said on Sunday after the loss to the Bulldogs:
"It was just another poor performance, wasn't it, really. And it wasn't surprising, either, to be honest because they just seem like they've been flat and dispirited for a while."

How shortsighted would you have to be to wait until the completion of the minor round though. Surely they must have seen the 2 things that we all saw;

1. 2 pretty good minor round years and a couple of good finals in 2016 & 2017
2. A complete fall off the cliff despite fielding largely the same team whilst not investing anything significant in youth.

You don't need to know whether you've scraped into the 8 to realise that something is wrong.

I'm quite sure they have known the desire of memebrs for an external review for plenty of time, but by delaying the review as long as possible it opens up a whole range of excuses.
