surely not.

Injury-plagued speedster Harley Bennell will meet with a Melbourne-based club later this month as he eyes a miraculous AFL comeback.
Bennell, 26, will undergo a second bout of surgery on his troublesome calves in a fortnight after specialists identified what they believe is the mystery problem that has cruelled his 83-game career.

WHO SHOULD LOOK AT HARLEY?
ST KILDA

Could zero in on Fremantle pair Brad Hill and Harley Bennell as a package. The Saints need some more midfield class and are at risk of losing star onballer Jack Steven.
Yeah that would be right, someone down there must have been a serious fan of the 6 million dollar man.

We need to keep Carlisle and Hanners then

its bizarre.

there's risk and then there's harley bennell level's of risk... it's not just a case of a footballer with injury concerns. this bloke has a long history of offield issues:
- photo graphed taking illegal substances,
- arrested during a brawl in mandurah,
- arrested by the police for his behaviour one night in the GC,
- booted from a plane due to being heavily intoxicated under the influence of prescription medication,
- has to be escorted from the ground at their WAFL affiliates game after he tried to coach one of the players mid game whilst under the influence,
- altercations with people under the influence,
- confronted my alleged bikie's at his clubs AFL pre-season game that he attended which resulted in an investigation by WAPOL,
- recently was heavily criticised by a judge after he gave evidence in support of some bikies who seriously assaulted someone. he was there that night when the assault occurred.

it's like dealing with ben cousins, just without the announced addiction, nor his ability to keep in check during the season regular, nor the ability to actually go out there and play.

So that's a no from you?

So that's a no from you?

it would be the worst move any club could do that i've ever seen

there's more i could have posted based on what occurred with two other players on that freo list

it'd be like the andrew lovett trade but on steroids. just crazy crazy stuff.

i have no doubt the HUN are fishing!

If we give up anything worth having for josh Jenkins then we’re just taking the Mickey out of our supporters.

Taking on his contract is payment enough imo with some meaningless late pick swap. Every man and his dog is bagging this draft so it’s probably time to grab a few picks as the popular strike rate is worse than our recruiting departments.

I think you mean taking on his contract is punishment enough.

Bytel is in fantastic shape just smart looking after him this year.
Yeah from what I heard was that Bytel played against Sam Walsh in the carnival prior to Bytel injuring his back and towelled up Walsh.
Was regarded as a top 5 pick before injury.
Can't wait to see if this kid can get back and start playing to his potential.

No thanks.

Rather see Steven lonie and gresh
Bennell could come good , but he is poison going by his past.

I'd rather put hopes in a kid than deal with him.

AFL career

He made his AFL debut in Round 2, 2011 in the Gold Coast Suns inaugural AFL match against Carlton at the Gabba. Bennell was dropped for disciplinary reasons after the Gold Coast's round 3 clash. He returned to the team the following week but was again dropped two weeks later. He spent numerous weeks playing for the reserves team and returned to the seniors team for their round 11 clash against the West Coast Eagles in Perth. Bennell would then skip a compulsory training session by staying in Perth longer than allowed by the club. He was once again dropped from the team. He showed enough in the reserves to earn a recall to the seniors team in round 15 but the Sun's leadership group did not allow him back into the team. The following week he returned against the Sydney Swans and soon after began living with team mate Karmichael Hunt. He would not miss another game and finish the 2011 season with 14 goals from 14 games.

Bennell's 2012 season would be a stark difference to his inaugural AFL year, he would play in all 22 games of the year. He would also end the year with 25 goals and finish second in the club's best and fairest behind Gary Ablett, Jr.

Bennell was dropped from the Suns' team in May 2015 after drinking alcohol during after a game despite the team agreeing to avoid alcohol for the week.[5] In July, The Courier-Mail and Herald Sun newspapers published a photo on their front pages, allegedly showing Bennell preparing to inhale a white powder, presumed to be an illicit drug. The photo was reported taken in Launceston, Tasmania in March 2013. The photo was published just days after Bennell's former teammate and housemate, Karmichael Hunt's statement to the police, detailing Hunt's use of cocaine with unnamed Gold Coast players, was leaked to the press.[6] Bennell was not selected to play the next game for Gold Coast.[7] On 7 September, after a drunken altercation in Surfers Paradise, the Gold Coast Suns revealed that Bennell would be traded,[8] and he was officially traded to the Fremantle Football Club in October.[9]

Since the start of 2016 Bennell has had a string of soft tissue injuries to his calf, this effects his running ability and has struggled to be fit enough for the rigours of AFL football.[10]

Fremantle’s Bradley Hill is expected to submit a trade request before the off-season, with a view of returning back to Melbourne.

Hill, who left for the Dockers from Hawthorn at the end of the 2016 season, is set to follow his partner back to Victoria and will submit the trade request as early as Friday, according to the Herald Sun.

The midfielder is set to be in high demand, with a number of clubs including Carlton, Geelong, St Kilda, Melbourne and North Melbourne all said to be monitoring his movements.

The 26-year-old has imp0ressed for the Dockers this season, averaging a career-high 24.7 disposals, 2.0 clearances, 4.0 inside 50s and 3.6 marks per game.

Hill has two more years to run on his current deal, and would likely command a late first-round pick.

Looks like he is ours for the taking.

Looks like he is ours for the paying of hefty trade price you mean...
