My source is a current player...not doubting your source ... just mine told a differant story to that and had our club as an afterthought and the only thing that had us still on the line was the dollar value of our offer ...
i guess we will never know what source was right except for the fact he chose to stay at GWS
easy to take a good high mark thoughCrap playing surface too...
What do you mean how? We got 7, 29, and 39 for pick 10. Doesn't matter if 7 was the next year, thats what we got.
I'm not getting upset at all.
I agree not all our trading has been good. That was never my point so you dont have to try and put words in my mouth to help your argument.
Your original post was talking about keeping our high pick because that's where you get elite talent and claimed we have traded away our future by doing this in the past. I pointed out the times we have done that it has worked out well. You seem to be going off track now.
You gave one example being Josh Kelly. I pointed out it also goes the other way. Getting Carlisle whilst keeping a first in an even draft worked out terrific for us. As did the Hawthorn trade. Trading pick one for 2 picks in 2014 would have also been much better than what we got but we didn't do it.
Or I can see that there is more to a 6 year rebuild than just the two examples we are talking about...You obviously rate the rebuild higher than I do.

I’m not a huge fan of some of the things we’ve done but sometimes it tests the memory and looses some context.Well that's assuming we would have taken what was at our picks. We haven't drafted well so maybe it was just trying to stall for time. It's only good trading if you are getting better, I don't think we are so far. Every year we do trades and never seem to improve substantially. We have very few picks this year and last year was so complex I don't even know what went where for who.
I guess we just disagree on how it should be done. I'm happy to take calculated risks but we trade like drunks at a casino as far as I'm concerned.

Roberton - Carlisle & Steven is hugeI’m not a huge fan of some of the things we’ve done but sometimes it tests the memory and looses some context.
I can’t believe that anyone would have expected to loose roberton, McCartin, Carlisle, Steven and yes even longer who has been reduced to joke status by injury. Forget the run of the mill geary, Webster etc injuries every club has those. I think if we’d had all those guys up and about this year then we’re a very good chance to play finals and Richo has a shot at getting his extra year.
You can’t look at this list without taking some really lousy luck into account, even Hannebery may yet turn out to be a very good pickup. What is to be gained by pushing him at present when taking it slowly and allowing him a decent preseason could have him right to go next season.

Griff Logue dropped again from Freo ...... i havent spoken to him since he got drafted but i reckon he would be looking for a new home as he isnt getting many opportunities at freo ... also i hear he HATES playing a peel (rumour only)
Haha... Jake to kick 7 goals from.full back kick outs...easy to take a good high mark though
Anyone think Cam Ellis-Yolmen is worth a look if we miss out on a big fish mid. Stat wise he is very similar to Dunstan but in saying that he is sharing a midfield with Crouch Bros, Sloane, Greenwood and Douglas so doesnt get much time in the middle I would have thought. Is a handball first mid which isn't a bad thing sometimes. We need an extractor. He has a far greater upside to Dunstan IMO and is a Free Agent so cost us nothing. Could be handy like Stevens was for us.

We haven’t had the picks carlton have had and I still rate some of our picks.I don't disagree but the damning thing is a lack of elite or even A grade players. Carlton can hang their hat on Docherty, Cripps, Curnow and Walsh. All 4 look elite quality players and in the near future.
King Clark Coffield Bytel Battle and pick 3 or 4 this year, i believe/hope we are starting to get it rightWe haven’t had the picks carlton have had and I still rate some of our picks.
They have us cold mainly because Cripps and Walsh are genuine gun mids, that’s our Achilles heal we don’t have one gun young mid although i haven’t given up on Clark. I did really rate Bytel maybe he’ll break our drought but imo we should be going all out to trade for one and if not out first pick should be used to draft one. We may not win another game, with a little luck Rowell or Anderson could slip to us. Nobody has a clue who will make up the top six picks at this stage, you only need one club to break ranks with who they like or to trade a pick and everything changes.
Boy we’d look stupid if we traded it away and the player we wanted was available at our pick. Live trading also gives you a chance to have a look and trade down if the player you want is gone.

Could we be so lucky and Anderson doe's slip to us
Wilkie looks like a 8 - 10 year player, great getEven last year we seem to have found at least 2 more in Wilkie and Parker. They look very promising.
Roberton - Carlisle & Steven is huge
On the plus side it may give us chance to get Paddy back out on the groundNah. No atmosphere.
