Way too much emotional attachment to our players guys....it’s a business nowadays.
We want everyone but don’t wanna let go of anyone!!!!
Can’t have it both ways peeps !!!

We have a lot of floating debris at the club, unfortunately some of it will get washed away

If we end up trading pick 7.

Would like us to take a chance with our late picks at the draft on
  • Walsh (Young Ruck)
  • Papley (Forward/Mid)

Someone mentioned that Geelong is planning to use one of their first round picks on Walsh. Not clear where Papley will fall but unlikely in first two rounds.

This is what I'm doing if I was LM :p (in a perfect world)
  • Splitting pick 7 for two late first rounders
  • First rounder for Saad + 3rd round pick
  • First rounder for Wines
  • Trading Mcgovern for a 3rd round pick (salary cap dump)
  • Trading JSOS for a 3rd round pick
  • Trading Kennedy for a 3rd round pick
  • Two 3rd round picks for Stack and J.Higgins
INS
  • Wines
  • Stack (Eddie Betts / Zac Williams project)
  • J.Higgins
  • Saad
  • Williams (free-agent)
  • 3rd round pick
OUTS
  • Pick 7
  • McGovern (a heap of dead money)
  • JSOS
  • Kennedy
One thing Is we don't know what proportion of mcgovern salary front loaded you might find now he on a Low base so dumping him might not be as beneficial as people think .. if silvagni Kennedy go I don't think moving mcgovern would be great move .. another pre season ankle And back should of healed (Soft tissue not so sure) up I'd expect next year be ok ..

Obtain Williams as free agent

Trade 2020 1st Round Pick for Saad

Rely on SPS, Dow, Fisher, O'Brien, Kennedy and Stocker to step up in the midfield. If they can't make it next year, trade them on.

E. Curnow and Murphy to provide some experience at training and be back up.

Team for next season which I think can make the finals:

B: Plowman----------------Jones---------------Docherty

H: Williams--------------Weitering-------------Saad

C: Cuningham-------------Cripps---------------O'Brien

H: Newnes----------------Curnow----------------Martin

F: Betts-------------------McKay----------------McGovern

Foll: Pittonet, Setterfield, Walsh

Bench: De Koning, Marchbank, SPS, Dow

Emerg: Fisher, Stocker, E. Curnow, Murphy, T. Williams, Newman, Kennedy, Casboult

I somewhat agree, however McGovern based on the last two seasons has ZERO impact on games. Therefore it stands to reason that his spot should be given to a player that has the ability to have an impact on games. If we get ZERO output from McGovern whats the point of having him on the list?

3rd rounders for Higgins and Stack?

Kn'oath... Two 3rd rounders ... Higgins isn't worth first round draft pick exchange and Richmond drafted Stack as a rookie.... Two third rounders equates to a few draft points. No-one is picking up stack for a second rounder and Richmond will need to get rid of a few players for 2021. Richmonds list is 'stacked' and higgins will get good game time at Carlton... I'd even give Richmond Dow and a 3rd round pick for higgins and stack.

Forget what picks players were drafted, it's about output

Right now, Higgins is worth a 1st and Stack is worth a 2nd

Nahh... No team is parting with a first round pick for higgins... Butler (premiership player) 3rd round pick, Zac jones 3rd round pick the list goes on... I agree that stack is worth a 2nd round pick, whether a club parts with a 2nd round pick is another story.

Rather than that comment, how about making a suggestion as to what they are worth

x2 First Rounders = Consistent champion / Leader (Imagine how Ess and GWS feel about the contracts of Shiel and Conigilo) LOL Lucky, we dodged bullets on those trade deals
First round pick = wins a few games off their own boot and consistently serviceable
Second and Third round = Role player who does a job within the team structure

90% of AFL players are over-valued... Essendon stuffed up ... 2 first round picks for Daniher, but parted with 2 first round picks for Shiel... Also there is a clause written into an AFL player contract is that a club has should make every effort to get a player who wants to leave to the club they want to go to... This is all negotiable but thats the way it goes... Conversely, there is a clause that states a player must train and perform to their best ability. Has McGovern really played and trained to the best of his ability?...

Seriously underrating players that have missed with a variety of reasons

I assume we're talking Jack Higgins here, yes? The guy has an on-going issue with his brain, that alone knocks down his value.

I don't see how he competes as a full-time midfielder with his endurance base, and he's not really one to score freely either. Half-forward that ticks things over, and some of them got to look very good this year because of the shorter format. Can't play 80 minutes on a wing in 2021 and be considered a senior mid.

I'd put him close to his ceiling, and would offer a mid-2nd round pick subject to a medical to get the current status on his brain abnormality.

With Stack, he's a stopper that can do the spectacular at times, but he's not a consistent contributor to the midfield phases, so I'm failing to see how he's worth more than a mid-third given he's a long way off providing the ability to overlap/repeat effort that you want. Respect that he's tough for his size and can play a very smart intercept role, but his aerobic capacity is a worry.

I'm sorry mate, but this scenario is just ridiculous.
You're better of spending your time on other things rather than trade scenarios that don't have a snowballs chance in hell of happening.
With respect, that is.

Football isn't an Olympic marathon Jim

Let's save this for end of next year, when Higgins has put in a preseason. Prior to his medical issue, was one of the most dangerous small forwards that found the ball with ease through the middle

Don't worry about Stack and all the baggage.
Let's just hope the club tries to bring in Higgins.

Edit. In fact, I'm hoping we could bring in Higgins and Wines with or without Saad.
With those 2 should they eventuate we couldn't really ask for more.
