Dead right. The performance in this game is one thing, they've all been very impressive for two seasons now.

We'll have to go about it the opposite way, build up the kids and then a year or so start hitting some FA's. We're going to have a lot of money to spend.

Agree they are impressive three but the point is they haven't just done it via draft.... they have also reinvigorated their list using trade too... Motlop Rockliff Dixon burton to name a few

Agreed, it's down the track.

They hit a few though when they took Motlop and Rockliff and had a couple of fails too. Burton was daylight robbery for them. Came though at a time they knew they had to purge their list which was rejuvenated with some really good quality kids.

Saints did it as well to a degree, some real good kids coming in towards the bottom to compliment other decent youth, hit FA and trade and finals are on. If we can get three picks in the first round it's a long way to fast tracking.

I hope those that question our need to invest in picks and hit the draft hard are watching Port tonight. Rozee, Butters & Duursma in one draft...
It has to be a mixture. One could easily argue that Rockliff, Motlop, Dixon and Lycett have been more important. Boak and Gray handy as well.

Are people forgetting Shaun Higgins is 32 years old? 33 when next season gets underway.

A 2nd round pick would be overpaying. 1st round pick? Dreaming.

Think the point is Souup, it makes no sense for us to help Geelong and get him there for cheap. He’s worth more to us from a leadership perspective, then letting him walk for peanuts.

If they want him bad enough, they can pay up. If not, he stays.

It depends on how desperate they are to try and win a flag. Dangerflog, Porkins and Duckwood are getting any younger, so they are running out of time.

Higgins in that side tonight makes a difference.

The talk (admittedly could be bs) is that if any of our senior guys who only have a couple of years left want to leave then we're not going to stand in their way.

I don't care who you are - no one is ever paying a 1st rounder for a 32 year old.
